Nothing is described, nothing is explained, there are no goals. A lot of bugs.
Even my antivirus has specifically scanned the entire game (just as I create an exe file after compiling a simple program)

This game looks like a very nice school project. But this is not enough to publish it as a full version.

I'm glad I got this game at 50% off. Because, honestly, this game is the quality of a free-to-play mobile game.

It is an interesting concept, and as a fan of OpenTTD, I thought this sort of game would be fun. But you get to see very little action in this game, and what's more, it gets glitchy when your rail network is big.

This game is a combination of adventure capitalist and a building game. It takes a long time to play. It is a game that you play for a while and then stop and go back to at your leisure. You you want an instant gratification game, it is not for you. It can be tedious at times. So before you buy, understand the game for what it is and is not. I took a chance on the game in spite of the negative posts. I like train games and it was a cheap game to buy. Think of the game this way. It is a puzzle with many pieces that you can go back to at your leisure. Also, you have the ability to start the game over again and try a different strategy.

Trains of the Orient is a simple, mobile-like train themed business tycoon game, although it's designed more like a mobile clicker/time management game. The objective is simple, get more money by building train routes, assembling trains, watching the money flow in and use that to buy upgrades to increase the rate of income, to buy more exponentially expensive upgrades.

I think people may have been a little unkind in reviews, it's a fairly novel idea compared to most bundleware games of this tier, and it works well enough. It could use a tutorial but it's not hard to work out how to build a train route and assign engines and carriages to it, but this also shows the game has very little depth and no long term interest. By the time you do your first train route, there's nothing else new in the game, it's just hundreds of repetitions of the same primitive game loop.

It's just not a lot of fun, but I have to say it's nice to see something other than a 2D retro pixel platformer, RPG Maker crapfest, Unity asset flip, or a GameMaker Studio template copy+pasted onto Steam.
