So I've played quite a bit of Enderal in the last few weeks. I wanted to play the main game together with the DLC a few months ago but my PC died back then :/

Anyways: I tried following the quest surrounding the key you find in Yero's house.

(kind of) Spoiler from now on:

I've found his tower south of the temple and opened his door. I had to lockpick it but I guess that's normal. Now I'm standing in his tower and have a locked trapdoor infront of me. However I can't open it. And yes, I have the key in my inventory. Haelp.

The key you need for the cellar is in the underwater lockbox as part of the quest The Void:

I know, that I need the key from the underwater lockbox and I have that key in my inventory. The trapdoor still can't be unlocked for whatever reason.

You have the Quest: Secrets?

https://en.wiki.sureai.net/Enderal:Secrets

And the objective marker is pointing at the trapdoor?

Have you talked to Alfrid in Riverville to continue The Void? You end up back at Yero's Tower after.

My memory on that sequence of events is really fuzzy since I haven't played in a while.

You can find more than one of Yero's keys in the game.

Only "Key from Yero's Strongbox" starts the "Secrets"-quest when you pick it up and only this key can open the trapdoor.

You probably forgot to pick up the key from the strongbox and you only have "Key from Yero's Hideout" in your inventory.

You need to run back to the strongbox to pick it up

You can either run back to the strongbox to pick it up or use this console command:
player.additem 43e14 1

Ah Ok thanks. I'll try that out.

I already had that key in my inventory apparently. Could you maybe give me the ID from the other key as well?

just type "help yero" in console, the key should appear somewhere in the list

If you don't have the secrets quest activated you might miss sth from the main plot, so your game is probably broken. Try validating game files

So I used to console to get the second Yero-key as well. However I still can't open the trapdoor for some reason. And none of the gamefiles are corrupted. I checked several times.

If the key doesn't work you may want to open the trapdoor via console. To do that you have to open the console, click on the trapdoor and type "unlock".

As soon as you enter the next area the game should trigger the next queststage.

I wouldn't recommend using any console commands, you might just create more severe issues.
You can note it at the tracker and attach a save before entering the tower in the first place: https://sureai.net/tracker/
Saves are located in Documents\My Games\Enderal\saves\ and consist of .ess and .skse file.

Forgotten Stories is the name of the DLC.
The steam version is the main game + Forgotten Stories DLC.

Original version of Enderal came out in 2016.

I have tried using console commands many times already but I think that breaks the game a bit. A lot of times when I used commands, the came crashed soonly after.
