Constant crashes when loading a save.

When I get into my save, the game (only) crashes every 15-30 minutes. But the game has a ~80% chance to crash when I start it and try to load a save. Now with the latest update, in addition tot he false positive virus alert I am getting a 100% crash rate on loading. I tried the AOSLOCATOR (or whatever it is called) option that some people were recommending and it makes no difference.

My computer is fine, never had a problem with skyrim, nor with any other game. This is the first game in 25 years of gaming that concstantly crashes on me. ~50% of my entire playtime in enderal is just staring the game and redoing what happened before crashes, I have had about 500 crashes so far.

Anything else worth trying? I really like the game but I am about to uninstall.

This problem has nothing to do with the virus warning.

Do you have a lot of saves in your save game directory? Backup your unused save files to a different directory, the engine has some problems with too many save files.

Validate the game files https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335

If you still have crashes in a certain area, visit a distant location and rest there for 5 days straight. The crashy area should now be reset.

I know the virus warning has nothing to do with it, just saying since the recent patch the problem has become worse.

There is no particularly crashy area, every area is crashing. Maybe Ark Marketplace is slightly worse but it happens everywhere in the game.

I do have about 20 saves, so i can try deleting some, but the problem existed even when I had only 1 save.

Once I am in the game, quickload works just fine, but when I start up the game and try to load the recent(or any other) save file, during the loading screen, nothing happens.

I am not experiencing this issue, but I do currently have more than 300 saves.

At what point (if any) should I think about culling them?

I did, 1 file was reacquired. Still crashing. I don't use any mods.

@MikeBob2013: Good to know, I referred to my experiences i had with Oblivion. So not an issue with Skyrim then.

Ok now I'm having this too, after quitting the game and loading any saves prior causes ctd

What ended up working for me is waiting about a minute when i get to the main menu before loading a save.
