Game will not load hard saves

I updated to the newest version of Enderal and deleted all saves both auto and hard from my original playthrough. I started a new game and now when ever I try to load a hard save the game ctd, but loading an auto save has no issues.

It is not, but instead in C:\Users\turct\Desktop\Games\Programs\steamapps\common\Enderal. Prior to the latest update I had 32 hours of crashless gameplay. Could completely uninstalling, erasing all folders and then reinstalling solve this issue? I have already deleted my old saves and would not lose anything in the way of progress as I was only able to get 30 minutes in my newest playthrough.

Edit: Uninstalling everything and reinstalling got rid of the issue and can now load hard saves. Surprising enough my older saves reappeared and worked fine but deleted them again and starting a fresh new playthrough so nothing mysterious comes about down the line.
