Soft lock after talking with Dad

Hey guys,

At the very beginning of the game after talking with dad I go into the house and walk up to a dead deer. After this my character is unable to move and my dad walks into the room. I think he is supposed to talk to me here but he just stands there with a big ole smile on his face. Anyone else run across this soft lock? Anyone know any fixes?

I have reinstalled both Skyrim and Enderal, I am also having issues with the sounds as well but I think that may be unrelated.

If anyone knows how I can skip this or fix it that would be awesome. Thanks.

Edit: All mods are disabled as well (including DLC)

you dont need to install skyrim itself, only enderal

I uninstalled Skyrim then verified the cache of Enderal. Still have the soft lock issue and no sound.

I don't know if this will work in this situation but you can try to dis- and then enable him with the console.

i think a game dev could better answer your question then, because i didnt had that problem with my enderal install and play . ^^

like gravewalker said , open console with ~ key, point at dad till you see his info on screen, press tab key to also see info on the left side of your screen, then type disable, and you see dad dissapearing, then type enable and he should be back again. hope he unlocks the "lock"

This half worked. I was able to disable and enable him to get through talking to him. Then by using quicksaves and loads I was able to get the house to catch fire and the load screen to trigger. The game did crash then however. I think I will try again.

Also check if the ini files of enderal in the documents folder are still there after a steam uninstall, if so delete them, to be sure no left overs are still there.

honestly your game seems buggy as hell. try to reinstall enderal completely. no mods. and see if you can get through the intro

I will make sure all local files are deleted before the reinstall
