Locked out of the Golden Sickle
I am on the errand boy quest for the golden sickle, immediately after having completed the previous quest with both men still alive and having passed the rhetoric check to convince the main guy at the sickle to give me my full pay. the quest tells me to go get more work, but the door to the golden sickle is locked with an expert level lock. Im only level 12 and Im not leveling lock picking. is there something im missing?

wait one or two Days, if the door is still closed then something is wrong.

one more question by the way, do you use any mods?

then wait a day or two and then look again. if that does not help then you have to open the door once by cheat.

okay, im waiting for a troll to spawn and then ill just sleep for 2 days to test. what is the console command to get that open if you would be so kind?

open your console and then click on the door with your left mouse, then write in the console unlock , click Enter and thats it.

thanks for the help, waiting two days did the trick. I should note that the npcs that inhabit that area were still coming and going through the locked door and that i was initially trying the door before 8pm, so it seems like a bug.

Those NPCs might also have a key.

i put this in the same category as people telling me to level lock picking. sure, I could steal a key or pick the lock, but the game should function in a way that doesnt make you curb your playstyle to get access to a major quest line. the game is intended to work that way, its just buggy.

I'm not telling you to steal a key off of one of them; I thought the problem was solved already. I'm just suggesting that they might have been able to get in because they had a key.

I see. I'm not sure that they need keys tbh, but its possible. I'm sure theres a list of their carried items somewhere but usually those npcs only carry keys with their own names on them as far as Ive seen.
