You shouldn't. That folder is treated a bit special by windows and may cause issues with some games.
Um thats where Steam installs all its games. :D
Whatever is causing his issue, that isn't it. But the game definately has autosaves. Something else is at work here.
You can create steam libraries where you want to.
My steam is located in the program(x86) folder, but my games are not. I even use 2 different libraries, one on my HDD and one on my SSD.
Being able to create libraries where you want doesn't change the fact Steam's default location is there. And there are no issues caused by that. Including with this game.
Whatever his issue is, it certainly isn't from being installed into the common default folder for most modern releases. Enderal puts saves in the document/mygames folder anyway.
Natetorious, to eliminate the obvious...are you running any mods with Enderal?
Another thing to check: On the Enderal launcher, check settings and look on the 'Others' tab. There's a button there to pick a save game directory. That might help if the game lost its default path somehow.
Yeah, steam's default location is there, that is true. But it can cause issues with some games and iirc the developers of Enderal stated that you should not install Enderal in the program files (x86) folder because it -may- cause issues.
I had issues like that with other games in the past, that's why i have been avoiding installing games to that folder for many years now.
Yes there isn't a real connection with the games cause they are useing different game folders but I would start to fix Skyrim first. Make sure you can run that before.
It's an rare issue.
Delete the skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini in "Documents\My Games\Skyrim" and also exclude the folder from your antivirus, run the launcher of skyrim and the tesv.exe with admin persmissions just to make sure it can create the ini files properly. Also verify the Skyrim files.
