Deus Ex Machina Bug

ok so I know this is an old one but I seriously can't figure it out. I've searched online and the bug fixes for it either don't make sense to me or are seriously outdated and I can't access them.
My specific problem with the quest is I can't pick any items up that I need for the quest in the machine room. At first I let Hallys free and that left the find the machine room part of the quest incomplete, I found that having him arrested completed that but it didn't fix the bug. I tried re loading old save files but that didn't help.
Sorry for being long-winded here but does anyone know how to fix it??

Sounds like you still need to talk to Calia after entering the room in which the parts are located. Have you tried doing that?

If that doesn't help and if you don't have any mods installed and if you still have a save created prior to the issue occurring, you should note it at the bug tracker and attach said save: https://sureai.net/tracker/

Saves are located in Documents\My Games\Enderal\saves\ and consist of .ess and .skse file.
