Lore: Who are the Starlings?
No spoilers please, but I’ve been in several conversations with NPC’s who referenced the Starlings. Oddly though, there was never an option to respond with “Lore: Who were the Starlings?”

They behave as though I should know this, but I’ve never seen anything that tells me what my character should actually know?
I am aware that there is a wiki article, but I’m wary of reading it in case there are spoilers.
I’m only in Ark still, doing the early game main quest, and I can’t get any NPC to give me an option to discuss them.

The wiki entry is pretty short, so I don't think it would spoil much for you.

Thanks.
It does leave me with more questions, but I’m just putting it down to ‘they were an ancient people who aren’t around any more.’

I'd say that's pretty much it, in a nutshell. =P

They were also a playable race back in Arktwend, SureAI's second total conversion mod for Morrowind, if memories serve me right. Or was it Myar Aranath? Been more than a decade since I last played them.

All of their TES total conversion mods (starting from Myar Aranath all the way up to Enderal: Forgotten Stories) are pretty much one consecutive story. So it's probably not a surprise that some lore aspects seem to be handed down as-a-matter-of-fact to the player.

That reminds me: I'm REALLY looking forward to the Steam debut of 'Nehrim: At Fate's Edge' in 2020. :steamhappy:

Yeah... but that begs the question: what about owners of the GOG version of Oblivion? Nothing I suppose. Hopefully Nehrim will remain available on their own site to download. Else GOG customers are getting screwed. :/

Why should they delete it from moddb?
the steam version of nehrim will just fix some performance issues and makei t compatible with the steam version cause it had some problems with it
