Is Ashen warrior the best light armor set?

Yes, in my opinion. I played the last 60-70% of the game without changing to another set.

Which "class" do you play? Armor sets in Enderal are very weak (especially light non caster amors)- lots of trash enchants (stamina regen, +rhetorics, discounts on magic schools you dont use and so on), set bonuses are not worth chasing after.

If you dont care about looking sexy- its better to pick and choose armor pieces from different sets with best bonuses, or even create your own enchanted armor. For example- Ash Warrior gives you 20% total bow damage. With enchanting you can create a single piece of armor that gives you more bow damage (without abusing alchemy).
