Critical strikes are worthless?

I was testing exquisite silver sword (25 damage) and apparently critical strikes only do 5 extra damage. Are they calculated of base weapon damage just like in (sound of suppresed vomiting) vanilla ?

i think so. Like Skyrim Critical Build is useless.

I just forged starling sword. It does impressive 47 damage and its critical strikes do 10 extra damage (extra 14 damage with one handed critical damage perc). Compared to a bleeding from axe specialisation- starling axe does something like 5 damage over time slowly (but it stacks with itself). As it stands right now- both weapon specialisations are equally weak. You need to pick one in order to progress further down the skill tree so i will stay with swords.

I'd probably just stick with swords and stack the crit chance, and damage, perks throughout the tree.

If you don't care using daggers there is a Greate Dagger "Corpse tooth"
I got this farelly eary stage (around level 30 or so)
It has huge base damage plus "with crit it dose huge amount of poison damage"
I am already be over 60 level and haven't played this for a while so i can't remember where i got it but it is not too difficult and do not need to main questline.

But if you go for crit base play try this dagger

Daggers have no reach. Reach, mobility and slowing effect from frost magic are the things that keep me alive.

Ah got it as i am a Blackmage afterall i do not know much about blades play in Enderal
