buggy character creation - is there a fix?

I can't select other categories in the character creation. Just race. The other options are grayed out. I managed to somehow click somewhere in some way that forwarded it to body and I could change that but then stuck again.

I reinstalled skyrim, and reinstalled enderal. Same thing. Found a forum post from some years ago complaining about this exact problem. (Googled, not found here)

let me guess you are playing on a 21:9 or even wider monitor?
type in your native resolution in the launcher settings into the field for it, for example 3840×2160
and use this mod, I recommend a mod manager to install it cause it comes with a lot of different versions: https://www.nexusmods.com/enderal/mods/14

I've run into the same issue, even though the resolution of both game and screen is 1920x1080. Whenever I try to click on one of the menu screens in character creation, the game prompts me to finish or continue, but I never actually get to the other screens (face, etc.). I don't want to install the ultrawide UI mod as my screen isn't actually ultrawide. Any other solutions to this bug?
