Is it worth exploring the whole map?
Is it worth exploring the whole map?
Like can you find sidequests or is it just for the loot and levling?

there are plenty of side quests :)
In Duneville are a lot of them for example.

the main story will guide you throw different regions a bit.

once you equipped well enough to fight the hardest enemies, not really. The best you can find is better gear, and money which are really not needed at any point. Either you fight for fun, to experience to combat, to test your skills, either you just do quests. Neither are bad.

The whole point of games like Skyrim and Enderal for a lot of players is exploration, why buy a game if you're not going to cover the whole boundaries of it, well actually i have disabled the borders of Skyrim so i go where i want.

I'm enjoying Enderal, i look everywhere, have gone over previous spots and found stuff i missed earlier.

Maybe you should just stick to linear games.

yeah man but if you enter your 10th cave and know from the start what you'll find in it, not much enjoyment there, isn't it. Would have instead liked half of all locations but the half left to be more significant, to have some specific traits, tied to a quest maybe or have you experience it uniquely from others. Take Whisperwood for example, it was good but could have been done more and much better than the 10 copy paste caves it is. Exploration points made just as boxed to be checked as done, rather than made a touching experience.
