unsure about the 2nd one. before forgotten stories it was commanders greatsword (this is not a unique weapon) but since there is now a stronger bow aswell it could also be true for greatswords but i cannot confirm that yet.
but in generel axes and maces do a bit more dmg than swords in this mod but they are also SLOWER to swing in exchange.
skaragg boosts weapon melee damage at 3 piece bonus. that bonus is massive. it doesnt exist in vanilla skyrim. it seems low at first when you look at it but this bonus is applied to the weapons BASE damage and is always calculated FIRST. means all your enchantments and perks will BUFF this effect. 7 points base damage is huge when most weapons only have like 30 damage base. thats a nearly 30% boost in total in the end.
also skaragg helm buffs both 1 handed and 2 handed.
only the chestpiece buffs only 1 handed. so its fully useable by 2hand builds. the chestpiece is only 8% and very few setchestpieces buff weapon dmg in generel.
skaragg is definitly best for 2handed builds unless they added a new higher set for melee. but so far i havent see any sadly. only downsides of skaragg is cloaks are unwearable with it due them looking like the float in mid air on that chestpiece :/ its sad that the high end mage sets look more like knight armors than this set.
just found the chestpiece of a 2nd highend crafted new set. light armor this time. sadly not useful for melee builds either. but gives me hope that there is more to find. and it seems its mostly blueprints. require 80 handicrafting for the chestpieces and the bow. i doubt there is any higher requirements for blueprints as 80 also goes in line with the best backpack. but 100 handicraft grants a small improvement bonus. it still says FINE but you get more damage outa the bonus.
getting handicraft to 80 requires atleast 16 level ups tough. so plan accordingly.
