Quest meaning
Random question, anyone else noticed the (****) at the end of every quest?

Does someone know for sure what it stands for?
From what I seen so far, quests have 1-4 stars, I assume it ether means difficulty or chapter
Does anyone know for sure?

Also asking because I am really paranoid to progress anything that looks like a main quest since the message that said "side quests will be hidden if you don't pick them up during a certain spot in the main story"

Difficulty.
Basically, iirc,
(*) quests have enemies around level 1-10,
(**) quests have enemies around level 11-20,
(***) quests have enemies around level 21-30 and
(****) quests have enemies above level 30.

The message regarding side quests that cannot be completed refers mostly to quests that involve main characters like Jespar.

The side quests that you can potentially miss are the ones related to two of your companions (Jespar and Calia). You'll always know that one is available because it starts right after a main quest stage is complete: Every Day Like The Last / Two Souls. Those are missable if you progress the main quest without following up on them first.

Everything will be locked out once you reach a certain late stage in the main quest, but you are explicitly warned that this will happen so that you can deal with any remaining side quests.

Thanks for the responses :)

I was reading it the other way around that if I talk to jesper other quests are missed. Had him sit in the dancing nomade for like 20 hours of game play.

I'm about 40 hours in and talked to Jespar last in like 5 in game days ago in the dancing nomad and finished part 1 of Every Day Like The Last where he says he would go away on a ship next morning.

Saw online that part 2 is triggered by getting a letter from an delivery boy that gives you a letter. That never happened so far.

Don't think I ever met Calia

I assume holy order / quests around the arcane fever are considered main quests?
I honestly have not progressed much in them. Been doing quest chains in the Undercity and golden sickle mostly. Now in Dunville (because of golden sickle) and doing stuff there.

So easy to get sidetracked by because there is so much going on :D
With that being said I hope I did not mess it up :(

Just checked, the only quests regarding arcane fever that I have is Taming the Waves.

Guess I should be doing that?
I honestly wasn't too concerned about the arcane fever, even as a mage on iron path its very easy to manage.

That will trigger after completing a certain main quest later on. And yes, the quest around the arcane fever and holy order are main quests.

You'll deal with Jespar and Calia during and in between the missions for the Holy Order, which comprise the main quest. You'll meet Calia shortly after Taming The Waves.
