No way to do that with set items. You can 'learn' various enchantments by disenchanting items at an enchanting table, but this destroys the item - although even this isn't possible with set items.

Also, you can 'dismantle' set pieces at a smelter (if you have the memory perk enabling you to dismantle enchanted items, that is), but this only yields base components (ingots, etc).

Simply removing enchantments from set items isn't possible however (unless there's a mod for it, which I doubt).

I want something else to wear rather then bland vanilla elven aetherna armor. All end game light armor sets are meh, they dont have enough bow damage on them.

I made my own (heavy armor) set using a full set of Keeper armor, *lots* of jewelry, and an Ancient Mask that I picked up somewhere (although the mask itself cannot be enchanted, but it adds to my armor rating and I think it looks really cool =p) ... and I did all of this after I fully maximized my Handicraft, Enchanting, and Alchemy skills. (Raising Enchanting high enough to achieve 'OP' values is crucial, and raising Alchemy enough to boost both Handicraft and Enchanting beyond key thresholds is also necessary.)

There are three primary disadvantages to my 'home made' armor set: one (obviously) is that player-made pieces can only take a single enchantment, and the second disadvantage is that there can be no set bonuses with player-made gear. The third disadvantage (and the one that annoyed me the most, actually) is that this is absolutely a late game endeavor, because it takes a *lot* of levels to get all three crafting skills high enough to do all of this effectively.

The way to make it all work well is to craft, improve (to Legendary quality), and enchant enough different pieces (lots of jewelry), and then to group them together into groups that can be swapped out 'on the fly' (using F1 - F4 keys, mostly, and PgUp for my rhetorics/buying/selling gear), according to the need at hand (Melee Offensive, Melee Defensive, Ranged, Stealth, for example).

It all required a great deal planning, time (hunting, farming, and leveling), crafting, and enchanting (and literally dozens of filled Grand Soul Gems) - but I'm a crafting nerd at heart so I enjoyed it, and I'm pretty pleased with the result I achieved because I'm truly über now. XD

(And, by the way, I didn't use any console commands to do any of it. :steammocking:)

I'm not very familiar with the various light armor types that are available in Enderal (because I've used heavy armor pretty much exclusively for this build, and it's my first build in Enderal), but my advice to you would be to put together a set of whatever armor looks most appealing to you and just go for it. ;)

There is no downsides to using hadicrafted armors because

1) You can use sets untill enchating is maxed.
2) Set bonuses are laughable. Like +9 health or +8 light armor.
3) Being able to enchant only 1 effect on item is okay because you really need only one thing- more weapon damage or magic school discount. Set items carry a lot of increases to garbage stats that dont matter.

Also, 96% bow damage on an item is borderline cheating. I got 41% after leveling ench to 100 and drinking rancid ench potion.

There is NO such thing as 'borderline' cheating: either you cheat or you don't cheat.

Either you put in the time and effort to be the best you can possibly be at a given skill, or you don't. I worked for it. That's not cheating.

I put a lot of time and effort into this build, using only what is/was available to me in the game (no mods - aside from one granting me the ability to craft my own arrows - and NO console commands used).

You can disparage my style of play if you choose to, but I won't apologize for it.

And next time I'll think twice before attempting to help you by trying answer your question. :steamfacepalm:
