Read "Dreams of the Dying" before/during/after the game?
I'm a sucker for backstory before playing a game (Shroud of Avatar Hickman novel, Bard's Tale novella's, etc.).

Would there be value in reading the "Dreams of the Dying" in conjunction with the game? And, if so, before, during or after?

Thank you

Any of them. The story is about Jespar a couple years (I think?) before the events in Enderal.

Personally, I enjoy reading about Jespar and then working with him in game, so I've been reading in conjunction with playing.

It's worth it. There's plenty of literary junk food in the world. These mods and the book are not literary junk food. There is deeper thought, imagination, and humanity here than you will find in lots of fantasy novels these days.

Sidebar: Why is it that every character in a Bethesda RPG seems like a fake person with made-up emotions but mods like Enderal and my favorite Skyrim mod Interesting NPCs (3dnpc.com) manage to make more memorable moments in smaller packages then Bethesda can with their entire overblown sandboxes?
