Archery +25 and fast Draw/Shoot Perk issue
Hi, maybe someone can help me out here.
Since I got Archery on 26 and skilled the "30% faster shooting" thing, nearly half of my Arrows in combat simply "drop" out of my bow... leading to some really stupid death scenes... Enemy sprints from nearly out of sight range to me and just kills me... because half of my Arrows lands in the dust to my feet...

This did NOT happen before I got to this lvl and talent. Its nice that I now can shot 30% faster... but in now 50% of my Arrows simply "drop" the shoting speed is useless...

I also tried to "hold" the arrow longer... changed nothing, still the arrows just drops half of the time. Also when I use "Firearrow" talent, sometimes a "second" arrow pops out of the bow, dropping to the ground...

As this is the third time for me to start Enderal... I really wish to finish it for once, but this issue bugs me even more than the feaver mechanic with healpots... (which stopped my from playing as a Mage and 1h+Shield).

On the arcane feaver part. You need to use alot of ambrosia, it´s like a gold sink so you don´t simply build up endless wealth. I can´t rly say what give you that bug, been running with fast draw or shoot and that never happend to me.

The problem with normal skyrim is theres no real gold sink, way to easy to make alot of $$ & the consumble are way to cheap to use.

Recipe for Ambrosia: Ghost wrappers + Nightshade = 5 + 20 pennies (Rethoric 15)
Ghost wrappers + Nightshade you can buy from alchemist in Noble quarter.
This is not gold sink at all.

It´s not a big gold sink, not evry gold sink needs to be big. Also if you commonly use alot of pots and spells that give you arcane fever you will need to drink quite alot.
Bijat Feb 24, 2019 @ 3:37pm
You can easily use 3-4 pots gain maby 30+ arcane fever in 1 big fight thats maby 50g for the ambrosia and 50-100 for the pots. Yes if you play perfect and got great build and abuse mecanics you will not need to use that meny pots/arcane fever spells...but not evryone wan´t to min-max.

But the Arcan Feaver part is not my issue anymore ;) actually JUST the Arrowdrop ruins my Game.
1% Arcan Feaver as I not play as an Mage and normally do not use Healthpots.

So no one ever noticed this? As this REALLY bugs me and ruins the flaw of the game complete... if there is no fix for this I will drop the mod again in the first few hours...

EDIT:
For healing I use "Drain-Health" on poor Crabs... this will also help me going up to Arcan Archer... for the fun.

you do realize you are supposed to use FOOD right? you dont need to run around looking for crabs everytime you need health. just eat crusty bread or something lol.

as for your arrow bug: nope. first time i heard this. do you have any mods? combat overhauls? or animation mods?

Yes I know about food, but why eat a nice bread if I miss 20HP? As I dont need my Mana for something else, I heal up at Crabs and gather some EXP as well. Save the food for REAL healing outside of Combat.

I have no Mods beside Enderal active (okay, now I use the NPC overhaul but not started the game since I downloaded this so it cannot be the mod) and it just started as I said as soon as I enabled the 30% faster shooting perk... seems to be linked to this.
Sadly I have no savegame before the perk to double check, as I did not noticed it the first 30min as I was going through the Ark-Story quests at first arrival so lots of talk with no fight...

the problem is im playing mage right now. so i cant test and confirm this. all i know is when i played the original enderal back in 2016, i played an archer who didnt have this problem.

so its either a new bug that comes with forgotten stories, or its just a bug on your end. i dont know.

also a tip for the future: NEVER overwrite saves. always make new ones. right now i have almost 200 saves. dating back to the character creation. there is no shame in having 2k+ saves at the end of the game.

I normally keep 2-3 Saves... as the madness of saves in Skyrim was already to much for me... no one can keep track of what save is where and for what so I dont see use for this ;)

As I'm at work and cannot try this out atm next step for me will be a Mod to undo my Talents and respent them, to double check if this happens only with the 30% faster shooting thing... but sadly I can confirm (if I find such a mod) this not in the next few hours ^^

I noticed maby what you meen, when you fire at a long range sometimes it drops below where you aimed for and sometimes hit where you aimed. But this is long range where you shoud have iffy accuracy.

No its really drop right at my feet, at max 1-2 steps away even after a full draw and hold for 1sec, on long range its normal as there is a "drop" based on the range, thats normal and happens in Skyrim base game as well. This happens also in most good shoter games (Bulletdrop^^) but thats not the issue I face.

Same, arrows sometimes just drop to your feet even when you draw bow for 1-2 seconds

Do you have Perks/Talents set for faster shooting speed etc?
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

The arrows dropping off your bow is a known bug in the skyrim engine, been around forever. I've been plagued by this for years. Enderal, however, actually has a built in way to fix it. Turn off Kill Cams in the launcher settings. Basically, it seems that if it switches to 'kill cam perspective', the starting point of the arrow is MUCH lower. Works fine shooting across gaps or uphill, but the arrow will bottom out if shooting downwards. If you turn off kill cams, this stops happening! I'm so happy! :D

I've played over 3k hours of Skyrim on several systems with and without mods, around 1/4 of this as Archer and NEVER had this in Skyrim once.
While in Enderal I have it at 30-50% of my Shots while they are no "kill" shots, even happens when I'm not in a fight and randomly shot at a wall.
I will try to "disable" killcams but I doubt that this fixes an issue which happens while no killcam is used.

I can confirm the same problem, however I believe it to be a combination of things, including user error.

I'm relatively certain it DOES reduce the total draw time, however, it doesn't represent that properly with the animation and sound so it causes people to short-draw on accident when holding for a mere 0.05 seconds longer would have been a full draw.

I haven't seen the other archery issue you described, but this one happens to me occasionally.

I honestly thought it occurred because I release the arrow too soon sometimes. (I read the response saying it's a 'known issue' but I haven't seen it happen very much and, like I said, when it's happened to me I felt like I was just in too much of a hurry at the time.)

And for Ambrosia potions I suggest Thistle + Baldris Root. There are several different combinations you can go with, but out of all the ingredients I'm aware of that can be used, these are the two that I see and pick up the most when I'm exploring.
