How do you spend memory points?

I missed something obvious at some point -- I don't know how to spend the memory points I've collected. Is there UI somewhere I need to access? Thanks!

If pressing Y doesn't work, go into your powers menu, select "meditate," and push Z.

They don't make it clear at all when it happens. When you get stuck on that weird extradimensional island, after being thrown off the boat, they give you immediate instructions to leave with the Y key. But never tell you why you're there.

The odd statues on that island are your skill tree. Took me quite a while to figure that out. Just thought it was yet another odd dream sequence.

Unfortunately some things can't be explained. As for why, you have to finish the game.

When I meditate and try to use the stones it only gives a description of what the perks do and then the only option is the "Back" on the description menu. Do you have to wait after a certain main story quest before you can spend your memory points?

You start from the bottom and work your way up the tree. Specific builds also unlock classes that unlock a special perk and some stat bonuses, which you can look up on the wiki.

Thanks, just figured it out right before I read your post. I wan't seeing the one on the ground just the ones on the stones sticking up.
