Question about enderal and Arcane Fever?
ok so Arcane Fever magic class can get but what if the player picks a warrior with no magic can a warrior still be effected by Arcane Fever or any of them raw magic glowing crystals?

there are also some area's that are basically like radiation hot spots, which give you arcane fever, you know instead of deadly deadly radiation

The above mod make the penalties more severe as well as removes healing from food. Will be updated for FS

Arcane fever is just a half-baked mechanic. It hardly punishes casters (the only spells that trigger it are healing spells). The mechanic seems to be designed to limit potion spamming, but it fails at doing so, because players just buy more ambrosia (potion that reduces arcane fever with no side effect).

Lore-wise, you are a mage, no matter how you play. The fact that you can cast spells makes you a mage (which is like a born ability).

Maybe Forgotten Stories will make Arcane Fever more relevant.

you need money to buy learning books which is increasing your specific skills in combat
so you wont have much money to spent and abrossia is expensive. the best way to get ambrosia is finding it in the world somewhere.
well you should not struggling with the arcane fever all the time. also it depends on the difficulty you are playing on. more damage from enemies = more HP loss = more health potions

lolomir did you forget that drinking any potions that are classed as rancid give you arcane fever aswell and the only way to cure it is drinking the ambrosia potions and that arcane fever can kill you love this mod/game played it through 3 time after eachother .....

then i'll refrain from playing enderal the second time this is a huge disapointment the most hated game mechanics arcane fevor was the worst thing about this game and thus prevented me from exploring enderal more then 100 places went unfound because of this I'll also refrain from giving enderal a reveiw if i gave a reveiw it would be a negetive one.

I am sure a mod will come to turn off Arcane Fever or heal it easily. Others agree with you - which is great about mods. So calm down and play the mod with other mods ;)

Well, Skyrim has a terrible balance. As long as you aren't killed in 1 or 2 hits, nothing is able to kill you when you have enough healing potions (which are easy to optain thanks to alchemy and the many ingredients with "Restore Health"). In addition, without any real gold sinks, you have easily enough gold to buy every healing potion from every vendor you see.
In order to have an enemy that can threaten the player, it has do deal massive amounts of damage so it might kill the player in a single hit if they aren't careful enough, but that's also not very fun.

Enderal uses the arcane fever mechanic to limit the amount of in-combat-healing the player can use. It prevents potion spamming and limites the amount you can heal with magic, and since you need a lot of gold to improve your skills (and random items aren't worth that much), buying potions and Ambrosia like crazy isn't really an option.

It seems like a nerf for players, but limiting the amount of healing in combat also means that the enemies can deal less damage and still be a threat to the player, and that's what's happening in Enderal. It makes combat much more enjoyable in my opinion.
In addition, food is actually very useful in Enderal to heal up out of combat and/or between fights. It doesn't increase your arcane fever, it's cheap and cooking is no longer useless.

If you don't like arcane fever, just use mods to turn it off and you can spam your healing potions to make yourself invincible again. But you can also just type "tgm" in the game's console instead.

I never tryed this but what if god mode tgm is enabled will arcane fevor scripts auto kill the player or what?

No. You just won't take damage anymore and thus don't have to deal with arcane fever from healing items. I made that comparison because in my opinion, turning off arcance fever has about the same effect on the gameplay as turning on god mode: Basically nothing will be a threat to you anymore and the game becomes boring quickly.

As i said, the balance of Enderal was adjusted accordingly. It's not just Skyrim with a mechanic that reduces the amount of healing potions you can take, it's a new game that almost eliminates the need of in-combat healing and makes healing potions to some kind of "emergency items" instead of your most important source of healing.

I've just found out that that is not true even with got mode tgm exabled the arcane fever still is a active effect it seems to be scripted just like in default skyrim theives questline when you navigate through twilight sepulcher even with tgm enabled player's health is scripted to have the hp drain effect there was a mod that turned it off but it's not updated for enderal forgotten stories if only I knew how to break or turn off the arcane fever in my opinion that is the worst and only think I dislike about enderal.
