Customized hotkeys will not save and welcoming pop-up of changes showing up always?

Right now I got two problems which are basically a deal breaker for me regarding this game: I cannot save the changes that I do on hotkeys. I like to use a personal arrangement of hotkeys for a better multiplayer experience, and when I change such hotkeys (a very tiresome chore), EVERYTIME, due to an unexplained reason, it will reset once I leave the game and come back.

And yes, I save all hotkeys after I make the changes. I can play well my session with personal hotkeys. The problem is when I turn off the game and return... I really don't know what is happening.

And not only that, but also I am getting ALWAYS the welcoming pop-up explaining me the changes made on definitive edition... This was supposed to be something to shown up only once I guess. I also get the UI selection pop-up after that (the one where you can pick the default, definitive or legacy UI). This leads me to believe that the game is behaving in a way that everytime that I start a new session, it is like my first session ever... This is frustrating... Is anyone facing the same problem?

Sounds like your game is completely unable to save local data to the disk.

Try launching Steam as administrator to prevent any permission issues.

Local data should be getting saved under C:\Users\<windows username>\Games\Age of Empires 3 DE

I tried it. But didn't work. I must add that for any other Steam game I don't have this problem.
What else could be wrong with my game? I got over 60 gb of free space where my AoE 3 DE is installed. I wonder what would be causing such issue. I emailed the support and they said that they know the issue and sent me a link with a bunch of problems being currently analyzed - but hotkeys not saving wasn't listed there... Do they know about that or was it just an standard answer that the support sends to everyone? lol

I was thinking if I can somehow modify the hotkey file manually in the game files directory where the game is installed. Anyone knows what is my hotkey file? So far, any change on hotkeys are not saving here.

Yeah I'm having the same problem here. Also the game won't seem to recognize my saved files, even after finding the executable outside of running steam and running that game executable as an admin.
