Game Update very slow

Hello All,

All the updates of the game take a lot of time to be done (about 1h). Despite the update is quite small like 34mb... Same situation at each new release... No linked to my internet speed

Does someone has an explanation ?

2 Hours to install 24mb update

pretty sure this is a steam issue. I have seen this happen in other steams games. That or your hard drive is dying

It takes a while for me aswell. It's a HDD issue. I have aoe3de on my hdd and task manager shows its activity going crazy

same here.. estimated 12 days.... yesterday i forced to close steam.. then it needed to download the 28gb game data :( .... now same problem with the small update... ugly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ waistig my day off...

Do all of you complaining about long downloads have DSL for your internet? Because if so, that is your problem. It is obnoxiously slow for downloads.

Its purely a connection issue on your end but you can check which download server you are using that might be the issue.

It's a known issue for games like Path of Exile (steam edition) when the games on a HDD The patch will be fully downloaded but its like every time it patches its replacing the files completely

I have AOE3 DE on 4 late model Lenovo Legion computers and it takes forever to finish the update after it is downloaded. Usually around 20 minutes or so

Same here, not 2 hours but more than 30 minutes for sure. It's not my computer I know that sine everything else works flawlessly. To make sure, I put the game on the SSD instead of the HDD and the same thing happened, but this time it was like 20mins.

Same. Each update takes me 1-2 minutes to allocate space, a few seconds or minutes (depending on the size) to download and more than half an hour to install.

I have this same problem. the download is fast as it should, the only problem is the update itself after the download is done. 45mb more than an hour. I would say this is my problem but this is the only game where this thing happens, so I dont think so.

It is not a download problem. I can download 1.9 gb update of Fifa under 5 min but 34.6 mb updates takes about 30 minutes minimum. And also the pre allocating and installing the update is what is taking too long. I think the files are compressed immensly.
