Revolution Issues - Finland Edition
This thread covers several issues that affect the Finland revolution. It is for the most recent patch, v. 100.15.30007.0, though some issues may have been around for longer.

-

BARRACKS UNITS NOT TRAINABLE AT BLOCKHOUSE
The Swedes can send 'Contract __' cards to enable various mercenaries to be trained from the Barracks. They can also send 'Line Grenadiers' card to enable training the Grenadier from the Barracks.
When they revolt to Finland, the Barracks is disabled, and the Blockhouse becomes available instead. None of the card-enabled units, with the exception of the Jaeger, becomes available to train at the Blockhouse. This affects the Grenadier, Giant Grenadier, Swiss Pikeman, Irish Brigadier, and Landsknecht.

-

EXTRA TAVERNS
Revolting increases Tavern build limit to 6. I don't know why as it's not documented in-game, and doesn't appear to synergise much with the Finnish unit roster. I can't remember seeing it announced in patchnotes, either. Possibly an error.

-

NORTHERN WILDERNESS
Karelian Jaegers are unable to build Plantations, but this card enables them to gather from Plantations. This is not mentioned in the tooltip.

-

CUDGEL WAR
Tooltip references 'hand infantry units trained in Barracks and Blockhouses', which technically includes mercenaries - specifically the Swiss Pikeman and Landsknecht. Perhaps the tooltip should be reworded since I assumed it's not intended to apply to the mercenaries.

-

ARMFELT'S AUTONOMY
Tooltip states 'Imperial ranged cavalry and musketeer upgrades', though the advanced tech text only displays Drabant, Carolean and Rekrut techs/discounts.

If the player has sent the 'Grand Duchy of Finland' card also, then this card enables (at reduced cost) the Imperial upgrades for Counter Jaegers (which is not a muskteer or ranged cavalry units) and Counter Dragoons.

As the Russians, 'Armfelt's Autonomy' also enables the Imperial upgrade for the Cavalry Archer (Imperial Dvoryane), but fails to apply any discount. This unit is ranged cavalry but isn't especially Finnish.

-

GRAND DUCHY OF FINLAND
Swedish Counter Jaegers have 18 range while Russian ones have 20 range.

-

FINNHORSES
Tooltip references 'Stable cavalry', which could include the Black Rider, but doesn't provide any bonus to it. Perhaps the tooltip should be reworded since I assumed it's not intended to apply to the mercenary.

-

SAVOLAX JAEGERS
This has the same effect as the tech of the same name that is enabled at the Swedish Church by the 'Treaty of Roskilde' card.
Sending 'Savolax Jaegers' card disables the Church tech (presumably because the card works by activating that same tech), and since the card costs 600w to the techs 1500w, this makes sense.
However, if the tech has already been researched, the card can still be sent, which consumes the resource cost and the shipment but provides no effect - not even an additional 6 Savolax Jaeger units, let alone a stacking hitpoints bonus or full (rather than half) conversion of their coin cost to wood.

-

FORT PANEL OVERCROWDING
Revolting to Finland enables a few units for training at the Fort, and more may be enabled prior to revolting. This results in the icons for researching 'Revetment' and 'Star Fort', and for setting Home City Shipment Point, being pushed off the UI such that they cannot be used.

Extra taverns was around since the prior patch, it might be a work around for the loss of being able to train mercs from barracks or just for better passive coin income.

Yes, I did notice it before. It would be nice if devs could adopt the practice of writing out what they intend to implement, how, and why, so that it is easier to assess what requires reporting.

It would be nice if they did that, yes.

From a balancing point of view I don't know if it could work, however I've always wondered if it wasn't perhaps better that the Russian houses automatically become new torps at the time of the Finnish revolution, of course, at least now it's better than in the past because the torps become buildable by the Karelian Jaegers, but on the one hand there remains the need to rebuild them, while on the other certain cards allow also existing houses to receive berry bushes and trees, even if the latter cannot automatically harvest them, so I really don't know 🤔
