Revolution Issues - French Revolution/Napoleonic Era Edition
This thread covers several issues that affect the French/Napoleonic Era revolution. It is for the most recent patch, v. 100.15.30007.0, though some issues may have been around for longer.

-

SANSCULOTTES
Coureurs de Bois transform appropriately, but Settlers (such as from the Naturalist politician or rescued from treasures) do not. They still count towards the build limit.

The Sansculottes do not benefit from Advanced Arsenal techs 'Flint Lock', 'Paper Cartridge', or 'Military Drummers' if these are researched before revolting, but they do benefit if the techs are researched only AFTER revolting.

Sansculottes receive a benefit from Market techs 'Blunderbuss' and 'Great Coat'.
However, the benefit is substantially greater if these techs are researched BEFORE revolting.

Sansculotte does not benefit from pre-revolution 'TEAM Ranged Infantry Attack' card.

CHURCH
Choosing to revolt to Revolutionary France provides inherent benefits, not requiring shipments, which are not documented clearly in-game.
It provides the effect of 'Edict of Nantes', enabling the 'Code Napoleon' technology, and the 'Young/Middle/Old Guard' technologies at the Church.
It also enables training Surgeons at the Church, and provides a bonus to the rate at which they heal units, which appears to be the same as the effect of the 'Master Surgeons' card.

Two problems:
- 'Code Napoleon' provides no benefit to Sansculotte gather rates (or Grenadier gather rates available later through Napoleonic Era card 'Genie Troops')
- The increased heal rate for Surgeons stacks with the effects of 'Master Surgeons'

Other bonuses not documented in-game:
- Revolutionary France: Native Scouts become Eclaireurs
- Napoleonic Era: Ships a Royal Embassy Wagon and enables the effects of the 'Ancien Regime' card but with special modified units.
- Napoleonic Era: Enables training of 'Napoleon Gun' at the Tavern

STORMING OF THE BASTILLE
Similar to the other issues raised for Sansculottes above, order in which bonus applies affects final stats.
If this card is sent before the 'Paper Cartridge' tech is researched at the Advanced Arsenal, then the Sansculotte's final siege attack damage will be ~1 point lower than if the card is sent after researching the tech.

-

AEROSTATIC CORPS
This card cannot be repeated if and only if it is sent from France's original deck prior to revolting.
If it is not sent before the initial revolution, then it can be sent once as Revolutionary France, and once more in the Napoleonic Era. The effects do not appear to stack.

-

FACTORY
This card cannot be repeated if and only if it is sent from France's original deck prior to revolting.
If it is not sent before the initial revolution, then it can be sent once as Revolutionary France, and once more in the Napoleonic Era. This does not increase Factory build limit but does allow replacing a lost Factory.

HUNDRED DAYS
Appears to have a similar problem to the above issues affecting Sansculottes insofar as the order in which this card is sent with respect to other upgrades (such as Veteran/Guard/Imperial techs, or Advanced Arsenal techs) appears to affect final stats. It seems to me that getting every upgrade available prior to sending the card results in higher stats, whereas sending this card prior to other upgrades results in lower stats - to the tune of between 45 to 56 hitpoints difference, 4 or 5 hand attack difference, 6 to 9 ranged attack difference, and 6 to 8 siege attack difference.

It may also be affected by loading the game as I note that with the 'maximum stats', saving and loading results an unpromoted Musketeer with all relevant standard techs and cards and Hundred Days having its ranged attack drop from 46 before saving to 45 after loading. This may be because calculations are run again and so the rounding/truncation resolves differently - I feel like I've noticed it with some other units on occasion.

GRANDE ARMEE
The upgrade to 'Imperial Pikemen' is available at its full cost of 1500w, 1500c, without sending this card, if the 'Papal Guard' politician is chosen before revolting. No discount is applied to the tech cost even after 'Grande Armee' is sent.

The upgrade to 'Imperial Grenadiers' is also available at its full cost of 1500w, 1500c, without sending this card, if 'Young Guard' tech has been researched at the Church. Sending 'Grande Armee' does, however, provide the expected discount to 750w, 750c.
