AOE 2026
I love seeing that you have all these plans and updates for everything except AOE3 like really man. It would have been whatever if you just let the game die out. But you still pay for the server space, and you promised two new civs then the week of release just decided to cancel it. Give some love to the best game in the franchise give us QOL updates and drop the damn new civs you greedy bastards

QOL was never a thing in this game. The entire friends system is atrociously made and since the last update I get "server error" whenever I try to initiate whipsers to anyone.
This was a quick cash grab with the least amount of effort.
Entertaining to see all of these threads making requests for AoE III: DE to get more dlc, but it is not happening. If World's Edge and Forgotten Empires were to change their minds it should have been announced before January 28th, 2026 which was the same exact day this was officially announced on Steam from one year ago. Obviously many people still love this game, but World's Edge and Forgotten Empires do not.

When I come to think about it as early as Knights of the Mediterranean dlc that should have been a potential red flag for being last major dlc AoE III: DE would ever get despite its positive reviews on Steam. It added two new civilizations, but it did not include anything else for single player contrary to The African Royals which is unfortunately underrated and its reviews (68% positive) are not high enough currently to get past mixed. Even though it is easily affordable at only $10 when not on sale for a discount, it currently has mixed reviews. The best dlc in opinion was not Knights of the Mediterranean, but The African Royals.

Why would it have to be under a year exactly?

How long will it take to convince you this game has been abandoned? Five years? Ten years? It was not the community that abandoned this game, but World's Edge and Forgotten Empires.
Funny man.
I knew it was "abandoned" at the time. I'm pointing out that a one-year nega-anniversary is not that relevant if the goal (if you could even call it that) is to drum up support for reversing the decision...like yeah, maybe if there was a unified outcry among a larger-than-we-have playerbase within one month of the announcement, that'd have been something, but the eleven months following that weren't some mysterious "will they won't they" phase.
We're basically one level below purgatory regarding this game.
Just ignore the negative comments, they basically said in discord to keep the feedback coming as that’s The only way things could change.

They wouldn’t do it on the anniversary as maybe it’s a day they don’t want to use as it was a bad day and that’s not how game devs work.

Steamdb has been very active so who knows if anything is going to Happen, also remember the 2026 post he refers to only states the first half of the year not all year so maybe it could be annoyed mid year

That's a pretty good Freudian slip, if I may say so.

That sounds promising. Which "they," though? Someone from World's Edge / Forgotten Empires?
I’d be fine with variant civs as in aoe4 so they don’t have to pay voice actors there are plenty of possibilities with same language but different cultures civilizations
