They didn't explain it because there's nothing to explain. It's a free trial, that's it. It doesn't state anywhere it's time-limited, just limited in content.
Limitations like that are an exception, not a rule. The issue is not them not stating the period of time, it's you assuming it is time-limited for some reason. When such thing is the case- it's stated in the title, short description or the long one down the page.
From the top of my head, I remember og Mafia II demo had a (moddable) time limit. Similar thing with that Resident Evil Village 60-minute demo.
