Stutter, freeze crash
For my part, after multiple attempts to find solutions to run the game under good conditions, I gave up. I uninstalled this game and never again will I be fooled by this sham studio that can't even optimize their own games but never forgets to extend their hand to receive money.

Try the basic troubleshooting steps before screaming and yelling.

Did you verify the install?
Did you verify your own system is up-to-date with the drivers it needs?
Do you have appropriate hardware to run the game or are you trying to run a modded 4v4 with 500 population at max settings on a toaster?
Did you submit a ticket with your issue to the support team and see if they could help?

Do you really take me for a fool to think that I haven't already tried everything before posting? Do some research, most players have this problem. The installation has been checked many times and there are no integrity issues, all files are validated. My system is Windows 11, 24H2, and it is up to date. No antivirus issues and no viruses or trojans on my machine. All my drivers are up to date, including my graphics driver. I only play the vanilla game, so no mods. I have a 13400F, 16G RAM, RTX 3060, and a 1TB NVMe drive that is 25% full. Dare to tell me that's not enough to run the game in good conditions without 3-second freezes, stuttering, and sometimes even crashes to the point of not being able to play a single game against the AI. A ticket to the team? What team? Oh yes, the one that never responds when it comes to addressing multiple requests for fixes on this same optimization issue?
Unlike people of your kind, I don't scream and yell; I observe.

So, to avoid continuing to look for solutions that are just an optimization problem that can only be fixed by the development studio, if they don't want to do the work, I'm not going to do it for them. So, uninstalling was the best solution. I have better things to do with my life than pay for awful products and then work for free for them.

had the game on Windows 10 and 11, and the same problems. Two friends have the same problems and don't have the same configuration as me. For me, it's not an OS issue, but rather a problem with the game's optimization.

I understand you're pissed off, but don't take it out on some rando on the internet trying to help you out. I didn't treat you with disrespect. Don't treat me with disrespect.

Any time you troubleshoot, you start at step one. You didn't tell me any steps you had taken to try and sort it out in your OP, so I started at step one. Work with us here. It looks like Eaglemut has you covered. He's excellent at this and very helpful. Don't take it out on him either, please.
always worked for me dog!

so to say it's "not optimized" is simply not accurate, since it's clearly optimized well for many / most people. including myself.

however I'm sorry you're not having any luck with it. can I make a suggestion? turn on "Preload asset" in the graphics settings. lowest option, if I'm not mistaken. it'll take a game longer to load but it may just make a big difference for you. hope it does. the game's incredible.

I just gave my opinion on my experience with this game, I never asked for help. Your 'basic' solutions don't work, and given the various criticisms and feedback from the community, it's a recurring problem that has never been fixed by the development studio, regardless of the OS used. So, stop treating me like an idiot by acting as if I am the only one having issues with this game, while the rest of the community is not impacted. Use the 'search' feature to see the different complaints and critiques about the game whether in single-player or multiplayer mode, but one must make the effort rather than continuing to be in denial, just to reassure yourself or out of sheer selfishness.
It has apparently been years that players have been asking for stability fixes that were never addressed, and the studio had two options: either they fixed it, or they lowered the price of the game. They made their choice.
No one said, at least not me, that the game wasn't good. It's actually excellent on paper, but in practice, it remains unplayable for thousands of players for the same reasons. So having a game with lots of modes and great graphics is cool, but if you can't play it, I don't see the point. I am a player, not a collector.
Regardless of the Windows version, the game has always experienced recurring issues with stability and performance. So the 24H2 excuse is for the gullible, not for those with 40 years of gaming experience behind them.
So, thank you to those who tried to help me anyway, but don't waste your time. My solution was to uninstall the game after months of searching for solutions.

Try faster ram, when i had 2400 mhz even coh2 stuttered sometimes but after upgrading to 3600 it worked better like aoe3 does. now u can buy even 5000+ mhz.aoe3 still stutters but alot less with 3600 mhz so i started to use LosslessScaling, changed aoe3 to lowest possible settings which looks acceptable blocked it in nvidia to 58 frames and losslessscalling generated frames and reduced stutter almost 2x only in full popped 4vs4 it lags and stutters but it is manageable for me.
I used losslessscaling only on 2x mode because bigger value is increasing input lag to much

I upgraded from 2666MT to 3200MT and ran the test with graphics settings both at maximum and minimum. No change. Still experiencing horrible stuttering and 2-3 second freezes every time a unit or building spawns, even with no other units in play at the start of the game. In other words, I’m playing a game filled with constant stuttering. Locking the FPS at 58 through Nvidia didn’t change anything either.

I think this has nothing to do with the graphics. I can easily understand the game struggling at some point because there are a ton of troops on screen during a big fight, as my PC isn’t particularly powerful. But I’m specifically talking about the start of the game, when there aren’t any armies in play. Besides, my PC handles it well when things run smooth even with lots of units, I can maintain 60 FPS without any issues, with all settings maxed out. And that’s precisely the problem: it runs well for a few seconds, but the rest of the time, it’s completely unplayable.

But thanks for help.

I got 4800 mhz and I have never had a problem with stutters on start up. It always runs smooth on the main game even with 1000 pop mods. I have had a problem with stuttering playing 4+ ffa on community mod maps. Never for more than 4 sec but frequently enough to make it super annoying to play. I play at 98 fps with most of my graphics maxed besides shadows (med) and I have v sync on.

I decided to give the game yet another chance, and I was finally able to identify the root of the problem. I managed to play an Ottoman/Russian match on a large map with all the settings maxed out, just to test. Well, not a single drop in FPS, no stuttering, no crashes, nothing. The game ran beautifully. So, whether it's due to the game being optimized in a certain way or an issue with Windows 11, I can't say. But in any case, my problem is resolved, and I can finally enjoy the game months after purchasing it.

I may have figured out my stuttering issue. It seems to have gone away when I lowered my refresh rate to 60Zz from 165Hz. Just played a game with no issues at all with those settings. This is on an i9 CPU with 32GB RAM and a 16GB 3080 TI.

I've been dealing with this issue for months now as well, funny enough my PC is the same 13th gen i5-3400F RTX 3060... How exactly were you able to fix this? I've virtually tried everything as well...
