How do I mod this game?
I cannot find UP TO DATE step-by-step instructions on how to mod the DE version of AOE3.
I am using the resource manager, extracting the XMB, converting it to XML, editing, converting it back to XMB, saving it in the Data folder but there is ZERO EFFECT when playing the game.

Uhm you go under "Tools" - "mods" - browse the mod you want to install (subscribe to) check for updates, restart - Profit

Or are you refering to mod the games yourself with your own mods?

When I am editing the XML files myself...

This path should be placed in the local mod folder; this folder is located, generally in "Users\myuser\Games\Age of Empires 3 DE\somenumber\mods\local", as in, "ModName" folder should be in "local" folder.

Thanks for trying to help. I load the mods in the game just fine but once again, nothing I change is actually applied in the game.

are you guys using the correct file structure for you mod folders?
ea: <mod folder> ---> 'data' folder ---> <mod files>

have you made sure to use the correct syntax and code formats in your mods?
ea: closing all the code blocks correctly

Yes. Yes. and Yes.

Not to sound arrogant, but I'm a veteran to modding the original AOE3 and still do so successfully. I realize there are subtle differences between DE and the original... point is I am following the new tutorials/instructions to the T and this damn thing doesn't work.
