Unable to enter Xbox Live via main menu?

Hi,

Today I tried to enter Xbox Live by that button in the upright corner because of the new event. It said "entering, please wait", but after a few seconds it returned to "enter Xbox Live" without appearing any login screen.

I was able to login successfully in the previous event (Knights of the Mediterranean, that is still ongoing for a few days), so did something happen in yesterday's patch?

By the way, I was also able to login to Xbox Live few minutes ago via AoE 2 DE and via internet browser, so whatever it's happening it's only here on AoE 3 DE.

Works as usual. Never had any issues. Outside of scheduled maintenance. In case of any issues I'd check Twitter or official aoe forums to see if there's any info about it.

The only complaints about this issue that I saw are here on Steam forum. Nothing at the official site's forum.
And I never had this issue until 2 days ago, that's why I'm suspecting of the newest patch.

It works for me, but my info was still saved so no window even had to pop up anyway. Maybe its only an issue if you aren't already logged in.

Have you tried basic stuff like verifying game files/disabling mods, just in case?

Just bought this game, shows my name as ######### and can't sign in to xbox live. I played normal aoe3 long time ago, but I'm 95% sure I was not connected to any account back then

CANT login in aoe3 and have the exact same problems like the original poster describe;
and i CAN login in aoe2 without problems;
i even see in the event viewer of windows (application section) that every time that the login dont work, i get 2 .net runtime errors that say Microsoft.Web.WebView2.Core.WebView2RuntimeNotFoundException ;
my opinion is that the latest update didnt put in the game files all the files that need to make to work the popup windows to login in xbox ;
but i dont have enought knowledge for be able to fix this :(:( ;
i have even reported this problem at https://support.xbox.com/it-IT/xbox-live-status but if the developers dont get note of this problem we risk to miss the rewards of this event :(:(:(

So to be clear, did you try what I suggested earlier and used Steam's "Verify integrity of game files" feature? And also disabled any potential mods active?

Did that make a difference?

I did try this, since I clicked the button to sign in about ten minutes ago, it says "signing in please wait"
Update: it now comes back to the sign in button...nothing happened...

When I had this on my very first sign-in, there was a window behind the game (as in, outside the game) waiting for me to click to sign-in. A small login screen.

If you don't get this, I wouldn't know how to fix it, but the problem is likely in your Xbox live profile not allowing AoE3 to link itself, as it has to do that like an app on your phone would.

Unfortunately no window behind the game. It worked fine till a few days ago.... Can't find anything in the Xbox live settings itself.

ofc, the verify integrity do the check but dont download anything, i think the problem is that the designers/developers have missed to put a file in the list of the files that need to be in the system to make it to work;
the only stuff that i didnt do, yet, is to uninstall and reinstall the game, bc: 1-is really crazy to have to redownload tens of gb to fix a problem :(:( ; 2-im afraid that if i uninstall i may loose the progresses that i did up now, bc if i cant login in xbox i dont know if they get saved :(:( and i would really dislike to loose something that maybe i will not even be able to catch again :(:( ;
anyway, if i will have enought free time (sob :( ) maybe i will try to reinstall the game on another pc to see what happen, but i think that this problem need a fix by the developers, and that nothing that the players can do can fix it , in my opinion ofc :(

i would be already 'some happy' if it would be just that, but im betting that we will loose even the other rewards if they dont get 'registered' in xbox account, bc often they say that u dont get the rewards 'permanently' if u dont login in xbox (ando register the unlock there, i think); its sad that ms dont want to just use the steam account to register the rewards, instead of their xbox account :(:(
