Rise of the 60min treaty?
Noticed that lately in the lobby there are far more 60 min treaty games than 40 or even 20min ones. I have done 4 so far, and is there something I am missing?

I played Lakota for 3 of them and (I guess) it helped since they have by far the worse economy in the game. But I played Haudenosaunee for another and did not see as big of a need or benefit. Perhaps for the absolute worse eco its good but I dont see anyone else, let alone European civs needing 60 min to ready large resource pools and military.

Wondering if there is something else that I might not be seeing. Was playing tons of AoE4 and might have missed a change in Aoe3? What do you think? Anyone here play them?

I think its bec usually it comes down to having longer fights and civ balance shifts a bit making trade civs or other gimmic revolutions stronger than they would be in t40.

tbh 60 is waste of time. 20 can already reach age 5 before the fight start. i dont know why people enjoy playing 60 mins farm simulator

From the about 10 games i played since this post there are some benefits, but only for certain civs.

Lakota have worst eco in the game (only one 10% gold card and no exchange), and civs like hauden arent far behind (need some macro nerding to cow boom in time). They benefit from extra boom time. Also like Obestiy said revolt strategies outside of argentina can be used.

What I dont get is that half of those games I played have high resource start. I get med starts on 40 min just to move things along faster and high on 20, but not high and in one case 10k start on a 60 min game.

I terms of skill players on average seem a bit worse in 60 min than in 40, so perhaps training or something? I still dont fully understand it outside of a few cases.

No idea, but every time I accidentally drop into a treaty game, I automatically win, because treaty players can't micro.

We aren't use to it; when you have the resources to instantly make another army people dont really concern themselves with micro. Actions per minute is fairly low. If your playing some civs like japan or russia you can do the bare minimum micro and win every game.
