Help Needed!

Hello I've recently bought AoE II DE and i'm having some issues which are completely making me regret the purchase.

I am unable to install any mods due to 003 which is related to unable to load ailoaderstandards.xs

i have tried finding a solution but everything I've been able to find just doesn't work. One solution was to remove a folder knights and barbarians but that file is not even there.

Another solution was to check for the proto.xml in the data folder but the problem is the only proto file I can find are the ones that come with the mod.

I also tried to mod the changes myself and I've read changes need to be made on proto protox and protoy for them to take effect but in the data folder where the game is installed i only have 2 files and neither one is a proto file, and I've been trying to locate where the proto files are to make my own changes for hours and I'm honestly at the end of my patience.

I've also tried to play the game with regular population limit but frankly speaking 200 population limit is just plain boring to me and not fun at all.
