I get the Dev Team is busy fixing stuff, which is awesome, but having information for stuff that does not change, or need to be changed is a priority, especially for less than patient people, or those who just want to play a game and not go through all the BS of reading forums, hoping someone put up an answer to their "what button does what" question, or needing to post that question and hope someone responds in 10 or so mins, because they only have 30 mins to play to begin with and 20 mins of that was wasted trying to find information they NEED to play the game but can't.
It's really an industry wide problem that began when consoles starting taking over the gaming world, then spiraled WAAAAAY down when "Early Access" became a thing. "Oh hey, we can develop a quarter of a game and people will buy it, but we have to tell them it's not finished...and wait, we don't actually have to finish it!?" HELL YEAH!!!!!
I'm a former tester turned designer who is extremely bitter about it, not going into it here, not the place, sorry for quick rant.
Also, not saying Axis Games is doing this, just got pissy for second there. Axis Games in my opinion is doing a great job.
Take care,
Thats a good idea to show what's being worked on atm. Trello will be suggested.
Oh yeah, I would much prefer a graphical representation of the depth chart over the spreadsheet list we have now.
Many of the best games in my collection, digital and physical, came from Kickstarter or Early Access origins. There's something to be said for being able to make a niche game, and have the people who are interested in said niche help you fund it, instead of just shelving the idea.
I've bought dozens, and really only feel burned by two of them. One because it went off in a gameplay direction opposite of what I would have liked, and the other because they added an oppressive EULA over a month after launch. Still, I've had a better rate of return buying EA games during their EA period than I have buying non-EA games on Steam.
Anyway, I'm not against kickstarter, not at all, kickstarter has guidelines and rules their users must follow, these protect backers if the kickstarter fails, isn't released, followed through on and so on. Steam...apparently, does not...though I honestly do not know for sure. Oh and I have 30+ games I've purchased on Steam right now.
Anyway, I"m bitter of how the Entertainment Software Industry has changed and declined from consumer oriented, to bank role oriented. But don't get me wrong, everyone is entitled to make as much money as they can, more power to them. But if people stopped buy "Early Access", they would stop selling them, it's a two headed beast now really, one head wants to make as much as possible with as little effort as possible, the other head wants as much as possible, while paying out as little as possible. Unfortunately, the bigger head is releasing the "Early Access", not the little head.
So it's obvious we do not agree on the topic, hopefully we can agree to disagree and move on to enjoying this game and it's community.
Take care,
(And an aside, i have purchsed fantastic early access games and also a kick starter which would never have been produced without either )
That would be my definite preference! Glad to hear it!
