Fullscreen Issue: Mouse won't reach parts of the screen.
Hi guys,

I have an issue with the full screen mode. The mouse is not able to reach 1/3 of the right and lower screen. The steam overlay shows, that my mouse has reached the end of the screen, but ingame it is just 2/3 and I can't go further. Seems that the mouse position is not mapped correctly.
So I can reach the profile bar on the top. All the other options are out of reach.

Any ideas?

Running at 1920x1080
Does not matter whether Windows 7/8/10.
Graphics Cards HD4000 and GTX 650Ti Boost

Best Regards

That's a peculiar one... are you running any sort of peculiar desktop enhancements that might cause it? We're doing nothing more clever at all than simply reading the mouse coordinates over the window.

No, nothing at all.

Have you got the latest drivers for your system (presumably it's a laptop?) ... and have you adjusted the driver settings to ensure that the GTX is always used for 3D rather than the HD4K?

Everything is up to date. GTX is on a Desktop, HD4K is on a Surface Pro 2 and disabled on Desktop. The parts I see at least on the desktop PC and can't reach with the mouse, I don't even see on Surface Pro 2 on fullscreen mode. There I see only the upper left 2/3 of the screen.

hmmm have you got a super hires "retina" style display?

this is happening on my 4k monitor also
i switched to fullscreen, and now the mouse doesnt reach the right fourth or bottom fouth of the screen. where the option button is :/

i can only click the top button that changes account, and the buttons my mouse will reach.

is there a CFG file i can manually fix this setting in?

(Alt-Enter will toggle fullscreen btw)

I think you're configured for "hires" display... Windows has a compatibility mode setting which you can apply which disables it just for the game - right click on the .exe and select Properties - I think there's a checkbox in there which will fix it.

Yep, great, that works indeed :)
It solves the problem on Surface Pro 2 with only 2/3 of the screen visible and on the Desktop
with only 2/3 of the screen reachable!
Option is called "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" / "Skalierung bei hohen DPI-Werten deaktivieren"

Thank you very much cprince! :happymeat:

PS: Only 'Alt-Enter' toggles fullscreen, 'AltGr-Enter' does not. Was very surprised, because 'AltGr-Enter' also work for most applications too, so good to know! :)

Best Regards

Glad you got it working :) It is good to know that quite an old title still works, albeit with a little fiddling.

I was having the same issue, Windows 10, 64 bit @ 1600x1200x85hz and came across this thread in Google so right off I'm going to bump this in case others stumble across this fix, It works.

- Right click the game title in your steam library and chosoe 'properties'

- Go to 'Local Files' tab at the top of that window.

- In the folder that pops up look for the game's executable.

- Right click the executable and choose 'properties'

- In the 'compatibility' tab of that window there should be an option to 'disable scaling for dpi' or such. Click that box.

- Fixed!
