Game balance on impossible difficulty
The game is terribly unbalanced on Impossible. I beat it on mobile with only the free heroes and I only used Orbital Strike on Nexus.

The PC version has a LOT more enemies, Borealis foes take almost no damage even using Trabuco or Blue Dragon, Orbital Strike is not even able to clear the site where you drop it.

C'mon guys, there's no strategy in ridiculously increasing the amount of enemies and their health/armor.

Please make some adjustments.

Maybe the tyrant is supposed to blow up your base if you don't shot if with enough DPS. No matter this is a bug or not, they do need to explain this better.

Yes, but usually the Tyrant has his "Normal Phase" where he just stomps and tries to kill your minions. In this phase you have time to do some damage to him. If you enough damage to him, you reset him to this "Normal Phase" and he never gets to his "Instakill Phase". If you had not done enough damage to him during his Normal Phase, then after a while he switches to the Instakill Phase. When he's in the Instakill Phase, he charges up a massive blast that destroys your entire base and kills any nearby units. While he is charging, you can still attack him to desperately try and reset him to the Normal Phase. So long as you keep resetting him to the Normal Phase he never gets to blast any of your bases, and you'll eventually kill him.

What it sounds like to me is that when this bug occurs, he just skips right ahead into the Instakill Phase the second the battle starts. This bug makes him immediately charge up his base-destroying blast. You have no chance to do any damage to him, and he has no Normal Phase at all.

(Not official names for the stuff, but it works right?)

Same here. Im doing Borealis (my last planet for complete everything in IMPOSSIBLE difficulty) and in the first level (level 15 i think) when you are close to rescue 40 allies, the enemy spawn rate is insane. They destroy your base in 2 minutes. It's a shame that we need to spend coins for special skills (like the orbital rockets). As one user said, Heroes doesn't feel strong at all, even at level 10. They are usless. I also saw that in this difficulty the enemies get a HUGE armor / health boost as well. Also the amount of enemies. Game is unbalanced in my opinion, as the OP said. So i need to grind some levels for coins until i buy 10 orbital rockets for this mission? NO THANKS. I love hard difficulties but i know the difference between HARD and UNFAIR. I will try other missions. Let's hope they are more "fair" than the others.

I agree with you. Raads are unfair.

For what it's worth, on that mission for Impossible difficulty I had one group of Diplomats and then as many Snipers as you can and parked them above the rock formation on the right side of the map (don't stand on the explosives though). Buy a bunch of the wookie guys from the left training hall, ignore the right one though. I think my hero was Sha'Tra at about lv8, but he didn't really factor into things too much, I think just about anyone would be fine. Drop your turret on any troublesome flame guys. Assuming you have full tech upgrades for the relevant squads, it's quite easy to finish that mission on Impossible. It's by far the easiest Raad level since they don't have ships or either of the really irritating soldier types.

For the most part I managed all of the story Raad missions on Impossible without needing to use any armory powers, but a few of them were pretty frustrating at times, and I did use Blue Dragon to cheese a couple of them. The only one I have no idea how to beat is the last boss, not even sure where to begin on that one.

Just use Blue Dragon Ultrablast, always shooting his hand when they come up.

On phase 1 you just need to do damage until you beat him. On phases 2 and 3 use the same strategy but this time drop 2 Orbital Strikes to finish him quickly.

Anyway i found an strategy for mission 15 on impossible difficulty. I blocked the ways with melee mechs and diplomats and used Blue Dragon. I also bought some Etherium storage boost and etherium shards for improve my base quickly just in case. It was a piece of cake

Use Trabuco, his laser is the best weapon agains the Raads.

Build laser turrets and put a squad on the top of the screen. Whenever the enemies appears, go kill them alternating left and right sides of the screen.

Just got to Borealis on Impossible and, so far, it's been painful but not nearly as harsh as some of the harder levels of Kingdom Rush Origins (still haven't finished all the expansion levels on that one, harsh as heck). And the consumables are such a luxury really.

Let's see how the march towards the end goes. The Raad might mean a difficulty spike I'm not expecting (although I found the Peripherals to be way more annoying than them on Veteran).

PS.: The only real problem I've had so far was with the "Tyrant instakill bug" previously mentioned. Had to keep fighting it until it decided not to kill me outright, took me 3 tries.

Deems to be a bug that occurs specifically, or at least more often, in Impossible difficulty. I didn't encounter it once on any of the other difficulties.
Drop May 24, 2019 @ 4:02pm
I encountered it in Veteran.
Urfarah May 24, 2019 @ 4:18pm
Yeah, got that bug on Veteran a couple of times too.
Drop May 24, 2019 @ 10:36pm
It seems painfully obvious that the spawns are random in this. On second go of mission 17, the yeti died before I could even capture the first base since there were way too many enemies--and constantly coming. Yet on other tries, there were very few enemies and could freely capture the first base. I do not understand that there's no checkpoint/save, but then, have random spawns. Worst of both worlds. Have one or the other, not both.

Oh... well then I don't know...
