How to progress with Liu Fei Quest

I have collected all the items and when Liu Fei appears near me, i walk up to him, he asks if i have everything but the only option I have to answer is 'Goodbye'. I have 4 items (not posting what they are as it might spoil the game for someone). this has been going on for 2 days

go back to the plant to turn them in

I returned to the plant, it still only offers me the goodbye option, am I doing something wrong, I have eyes of Innocence, brimstone, Ancient rhino horn and heart of a hero. tried again today when he appeared at my base, still the same goodbye option. Is there a way we can check the list of what we need, I did write it all down maybe i missed something?

I've been able to complete Liu Fei's quest line twice, but on my third attempt today it gave me the exact same problem that OP is experiencing. I haven't found a workaround yet.

The primary difference between my attempts is that my third attempt was on a multiplayer server, whereas the two successful ones were in single player. How about you, Mit?

I am on a multiplayer server, and have had the same problem with the Freya quest, when I return to her with the notes I just get the goodbye option. So, not sure what to do now. wondering if the fact i've used Sorcery might have something to do with it?

I highly doubt it's anything to do with sorcery, it's just not very robustly coded. Other people on that server have completed Liu Fei's quest line, and now my second single player Freya run won't progress further, so my single/multiplayer theory isn't checking out.

I've given up and uninstalled the test build. This content is borderline alpha, not beta. They need to write a lot more dialogue options that clarify to the player what stage the quest is in, whether it's waiting on its timegate or whether it's waiting for you to do something and specifically what. Many weekend players are going to return to this a week later and have no recollection of what Liu Fei or Freya want. There's also a big problem with Freya's quests being highly likely to be spawn blocked on most highly populated PVE servers. Where I currently play, 3 of the 4 locations that Freya will direct people towards in the future have already been built over. There are alternative places to find those animals, but inexperienced players aren't going to have a clue, and I'm not sure if Freya will permit wandering that far. You can also build over some of the poultice ingredients, but that's less likely to happen by accident.

Even if it was all working perfectly as intended, these companion quests are undercooked.

I like your post, and agree, this does need looking into. its putting me off testing it, I have started trying in solo, but losing interest a bit. I definitely agree with your that you need to see the stage you are at in your quest. I would have forgotten if I hadn't written it down but also, now its not working wondering if I have missed something. There is no way of telling

my very first run is bugged in SP it seems. the notes and gold respawn in seconds but when return to Freya she sends me back to stromwatch....

Try going back to Stormwatch and wait until you get attacked. Deal with them, (there are 4 of them I think) and then return to Freya.

I solved the issue: You cannot be in admin mode when handing the ingredients in. Simply make yourself normal and then interact with him.

My experience was the opposite: I got it to work twice in Single Player Admin mode, but could not turn them in on the official test server where nobody has admin powers.

I just thought the most likely explanation is someone in singleplayer using admin mode to travel and then try to turn the stuff in. For me, it didnt work when I was admin, it worked when I turned myself normal.

Still trying every day. I am not in admin mode I am on a multiplayer server. I have all the ingredients and Liu Fei asks if i have them, my only option to answer is 'goodbye'. Same with Freya, i have the notes, she asks if i learnt anything and the only answer option I have is 'goodbye'. I have done both quests on my solo server, wondering if there is any way i can restart both quests without deleting my character.

quest broken for me also ( official test server ) , i return with the item to the jungle he only said goodbye , i return to base and talk to him how only says good bye

trying a relog to see if he wil talk to me at base, but the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hours i spend getting hearts and eyes is annoying as ♥♥♥♥

fix the test servers so we can test and not just wank off for hours and hours doing boring ♥♥♥♥
