HEMP

Is there something wrong with Hemp? My first year I started with multiple 5x5 Farm fields. I planted all seeds except Barley and Hops. I was too busy to pay much attention to the fields because I had so much building Under the Mountain that needed to be done. I do know all the food seems to have been harvested as my Food Storage was full of food by winter. Come second spring I opened a few more food fields and planted everything again except the Barley and Hops. Mean while my loom sits idle, my beds await linen to be built and I have upset Dwarfs sleeping on the floor. This time I looked at Hemp field. Its still cultivated but nothing is planted, 10 Hemp seeds sit in Seed Storage . It's now day 8 of summer. I'm guessing they are the original seeds and they never got planted last year. Is Hemp broke? Or is there something different about Hemp's needs? Why wont my Hemp seeds get planted? My Dwarfs are getting pissed. Thanks.

Some crops including Hemp can only be planted in the spring, sorry you're not really told about this currently but this is fixed now along with a big bunch of changes coming in a big update soon! So most likely your dwarves were just too busy to get around to planting the hemp in both years, but increasing the priority on the farm plot for next spring should do it.

OK but this year, my Spring 2 I planted all fields on Spring day number one. I thought I did have priority on dark Blue Highest Priority. Should I plant Flax first next spring and not plat anything else until the 10 seeds are in the ground?

Just having a higher priority on your hemp field should ensure its planted first before the others are done, unless we're running into some kind of bug here
