Issues/Requests
Been playing off and on for a while since the kickstarter and first access was given. Now that it's on steam I've been focusing on the game more and have tried different maps and scenarios. I'd like to make note of a few issues I see, and make a few recommendations:

Issues:
1) When building rooms, walls, even beds or work benches, etc - fairly often a toon gets stuck and will die of dehydration. It would be great if either they could build smarter or we could at least get a notification (including a sound notice) when someone's in danger of dying. I know this is an issue previously reported on the discord channel but I figured it warranted a nod here.

2) No priority levels really makes getting things done "well" near to impossible. Even after readjusting jobs on toons, they'll go off and do things completely on their own and without any real direction. I know you can increase priority in certain zones but it's not the same as trying to direct your people to beat out a fire or build that forge immediately. I had a toon die, built a grave and made the graveyard have top priority but the body still laid there a couple days before someone got around to picking them up. In the example of fire - I know you posted in Steam earlier that you were considering bumping up the priority of fire extinguishing, but allowing manual priority setting for toons would be better, I think.

3) Quite often when setting up work zones my toons simply won't build all the furniture or work stations in the zone. Example: Building a kitchen zone, workers build everything but a Baker's Workshop, but they'll place some of the required items onto the unfinished table. They never get around to finishing it up, even though I see it still needs a couple blocks or a rolling pin that I have in inventory (in a stockpile). What usually works for me in these cases is to start over - cancel build of that item, then build the table again in the exact same spot and position - then they get to building it.

4) This may just be lack of knowledge on my part but it seems that new toons join at completely random times and frequencies. In my current game, I'm down to 4 toons, have 9 separated bedrooms, a ton of food and all the workstations needed - but not a single toon has joined me yet. In my previous play-through I had several join very soon after I built a communal bedroom. Is there something I'm missing?

5) I've had it where I put a cauldron in the kitchen and the feasting hall but only had 1 cauldron in stock. Adt that point I've seen the toons move the cauldron from one queued spot to the other and even back to the stockpile. Not sure what's going on there, but IMO when one is placed and another is queued, I'd think it would be better to have the queued one just wait until a new cauldron is available and not switch it back and forth like that.

Recommendations/Requests:
1) Please let us perform construction replacement tasks. The main example is just building walls or pillars over top of natural rock so that they can be mined and replaced.

2) Please let us build doors before the surrounding walls are built - at least let us queue them up along with the walls.

3) While the "Settlers" button is helpful, it would be nicer to have a more comprehensive way to see them all at once and adjust their responsibilities/priorities in the same window.

4) Can you shrink the text and icons in the Resources window so we can see everything on one screen there as well (without having to scroll)?

I think that's enough for now. :)

Thanks!

I agree with this. But how do you get the game on steam if you bought it from the dev directly ?

A lot of good points there yes which I'm hoping to get in before now and the steam EA release, particularly queueing up doors along with walls that are still to be built. You have immigrants join sometime in the sprint each year (after the first) which I think is currently influenced by how much food you have available. A lack of food will mean they don't come that year. This is probably still to change quite a bit.

People who had access to the game already, such as backing it on Kickstarter, have been provided with a Steam key, but from this point on people just have to wait for the Steam release in January I'm afraid.
