HAVING TROUBLE STARTING THE GAME? PLZ READ!

A handful of players are having trouble getting the game to start up. Based on reports, it usually boots to a black or white screen and just seems to hang there forever. Or, it makes it to the title screen, but the screen looks frozen or glitched and you can't interact with it.

If you are still experiencing this issue after updating to the latest version of the game, I am very sorry for the inconvenience. I suggest going through the troubleshooting steps below to see if it helps. Each one of these has helped at least one, but in some cases many users to get the game started.

TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS

1. Completely uninstall and reinstall the game. If that doesn't work, try verifying the integrity of the files on Steam by right-clicking the game in your Steam library, selecting "Properties", going to the "Local Files" tab and clicking the "Verify integrity of game files..." button.
   
   
2. Ensure that all of your graphics and audio drivers are up to date.
   
   
3. Try disabling the Steam overlay by right-clicking the game in your Steam library, selecting "Properties" and un-checking the "Enable Steam Overlay" option.
   
   
4. Start the game outside of Steam entirely by right-clicking the game in your Steam library, selecting "Properties", going to the "Local Files" tab, clicking the "Browse..." button and then double-clicking the "HuniePop 2 - Double Date.exe" file.
   
   
5. Run the game as an administrator by browsing to the executable file using the same steps above, right-clicking it, and selecting "Run as administrator".
   
   
6. Run the game in compatibility mode by browsing to the executable file using the same steps above, right-clicking it, selecting "Properties", going to the "Compatibility" Tab, checking the "Run this program in compatibility mode..." checkbox and selecting a different version of Windows. People have had luck with selecting "Windows 8".
   
   
7. Your save file may have somehow been corrupted when it was being created, so try deleting it. On most versions of Windows you will find the save file located in "C:/Users/*username*/AppData/LocalLow/HuniePot/HuniePop 2 - Double Date/" where "*username*" is, well, your username on the computer. Be SURE you are going into the "AppData" folder. "AppData" is normally a hidden folder, so you may have to browse to this location manually by typing it into the explorer bar. The file is called "HP2SaveData1.dat". Delete it, and then try starting the game. On Mac the save file is located in "/Users/*username*/Library/Application Support/com.HuniePot.HuniePop2-DoubleDate/".
   
   
8. If you have access to a different computer, try playing it on that. A machine with higher specs seems much less likely to encounter this issue.

If all else fails, you are of course more than welcome to refund the game and get your money back. You can also check back in the future for an update where the issue may no loner be a problem for you.

I have the same issue, where the game just crashes my computer , everything was fine few days ago when I bought it, but now it just wont work , I tried everything.

After the last update it finally started but the background was black and i couldn't see any buttons so i restarted the game and it's back to crashing. I tried troubleshooting but it didn't work.

I have an I9 3080 eagle, 32 gbs of ram, lots of nvme storage and a nice aio and i cannot get this game to work whatever I do. It lots and I see the click to proceed screen but I cannot actually click anything to go anywhere. The game seems out of resolution and just simply doesn't let me click. ANy help is appreciated

I meet all the listed system requirements, but when I try to run it, it sits on a black screen for several minutes. eventually you can hear the music start playing and if you click on the screen the menu pops up so you can start the game. the intro will play, but then it lags super bad and becomes completely unplayable. during all of this no graphics appear on screen except for the copyright in one corner and the version in the other.

Yeah i've got the exact same problem, have no idea what to do. I've already tried everything listed here and nothing helped...

It almost feels like after this recent update and the black screen staying no matter what I do. I'll probably never be able to play this game ever again. This whole issue is being ignored for far too long.

Did you move the folder or the application? And how do I make steam reacquire files?

I moved the folder, it'll reacquire the files if you verify the integrity of the game files after you move the folder.

Hi, I'm on Mac and I'm still unable to play the game since v1.01, it ran flawlessly in the release version but now it's graphically glitching, frame rate dropped drastically, photo album are just blank squares, and backgrounds are completely dark. Any info on this yet, I'd appreciate any help and I still am thankful for the updates, would just love to actually enjoy them.

I cant even open the game, it goes to black screen like its tying to open, but when i click on it to see if it froze, it goes to a white screen then says it has difficulty opening, and i have to click "close out of application" and i try again, and it does the same thing, what do i do

Im not having opening the game however once its open i see click to continue, and then nothing happens if i left click, however if i middle click it opens the new game tab, which so far im stuck on. any help:?

first time commenting can i get hunie pop 2 on steam if i got it on another platform or do i have to pay for it on steam as well? i got a version of it but it dosent really work not sure what i did to it but it gos to boot up and says i dont have something to open it i never had the issue with steam can i transfer the game over or do i have to spend more to get it on steam so i can play?
