How do you increase mana cap?
50 is fine at the beginning but it's pretty much useless now that my characters are level 12.

You can get it up to 100 at the library, but the active skills still seem like a complete waste of time given the hassle to restore mana.

Look at the library upgrades, you can drag the screen to see further into the upgrade paths.
A mana upgrade is after you learn the better healing spell, which increases your mana to 100.

Edit: oops, Vyrak said it already

I figure on just using fire to bring the bosses down to my characters' size.

Thanks.

You can quickly drop a couple of fire spells, exit to town and queue some mana pots crafting, then go back to battle and cast some more. Spells may be in red text, but usable once you get mana from crafting.

Umm...my buildings don't craft without characters in them.

Do you recruit extra characters just to sit in buildings so you don't have to drag them around the town screen?

At first, I thought the same. Have some chars idle in town for crafting. But then I realised, that there are only 8 character. You can't even max out your adventures. 3 groups with 3 persons, so 9 slots and only 8 chars.

So after a while your just sitting in town, queue crafting and wait. Because later it takes few minutes.

Spells are pretty much worthless later. I think, that there were more tiers planned, because most spells are labled like "Punishment I". But there is no "Punishment II".

If it takes a few minutes, the strategy outlined by Panterich could not work. Guess I will have to hire a potions master, maybe call him Snape...oh right, you can't change the names.

Yes, recruit another character to put in laboratory.
Bosses on last stages are quite hard, and this may help a little. I was using 1 heal on the way to boss, then 4 fire spells and then 1 group heal in battle with nameless.

I find the fire spell to be much too weak. I pretty much use only the heal spells, because you can tell when characters haven't got enough health to survive but aren't low enough to chug a potion.
