How does the fashion show work?

I can't figure out how the fashion show is supposed to work, my naked character gets a higher score then characters that have gear on. WTF is going on?!

Basically it is random, but you can bribe the judges with gifts to give you a better success rate. Very realistic. 8^D

I think you're supposed to bribe the judges to find out what they like and dislike.
Then when you know that you can equip outfits that match to get maximum points. It feels like a massive waste of time tbh.
Don't bother with it early on for sure.

People are saying that the judges reset their likes every contest so no, better of selling items.

I think i've managed to game the system somewhat. I have 6 heroes and i send 3 in. If i send those same 3 heroes with the same equipment in, all their scores drop down to 1. If i swap in the second group, their scores shoot up at 5-7 on average. I've ran this test through 6 different swaps and the scores never dropped to 1. The moment i re-used an outfit/hero, the scores dropped.

It's very anecdotal, but i don't care to keep trying it because it's really not interesting or worthwhile.

I managed to get to 93 rep, but haven't gotten past that point (100 for first gold star). Seems pretty much pointless as the better my gear gets the lower my scores are.

I just reuse my 3 best geared heroes regardless of what they're currently wearing and I've maxed out the rep at 5 stars from random wins. I'll get a guy that had 1 1 2 end up winning the contest sometimes. I don't think it's really worth the effort to try to game it.

Tested this by giving my ranged character an entirely new outfit (head, body, feet, weapon) and she got 1/1/1 in the contest so I think my anecdote trumps your anecdote.

I didn't change any outfits. Just put in different people.

It certainly feels weird.

In my case it'd be like "The trendy color is pink!"
So I'll be like, "Oh, I'll just try to include items that have at least some pink, that'll help."

And I'll still end up with 1s all across the board, haha...

I have the absolute same problem. I send in 3 heroes with gear that matches all the "wishes" of the judges with maybe 1 item that has a stat that one of them dislikes and I get 1s all across the board. I mean I spent soooo many resources to figure out what they want and don't want to see and now I am getting only 1s. RNGesus is very stong within this one. Cans somebody for the love of god pleasse explain how this bs mechanic works?

Main clue is trendy color. Just wear gear with it. I've taken 1,3,4 place in 10 people contest.
