"Cheater!" Prompt in event completion menu - confusion?

After completing some of those pop up events such as "A robber has been caught stealing blablabla" or "please give xxx to xxx" It'll show a prompt when picking a menu "Cheater!"

What does this mean?

I've heard of games through youtube vids that'd have something similar, like dead ends / unbeatable bosses / unbeatable events if the client detected a cracked version of the game or if you used a cheat code.

But in regards to this game, I'm at a complete loss, especially because Im the least likely person within gaming to use a cheat engine or w/e.

The worst I've ever done was download a file modifier for Borderlands 2 to reset my Badass Rankings so i could play on equal footing with my littlesister.


So is this just a prompt error or a bad translation or does the client actually think some cheating is going on?

Aha, well that explains alot, I guess they could've used a more clarifying word.

"Robbed" "Scammed" "Conarted" "Thieved" "Decieved".

Yeah, being a right bastard doesn't seem to have much of a cost. Being stingy and cruel at worst robs you of opportunities, while being benevolent runs the risk of getting you cheated out of a lot of money.

That said, arresting the damned cruminal dwarves netted me a budget-saving sum of money one time :)

Wonder if quest is random at all. 'Give' option resulted in exactly same outcome 6 times in a row and one time i tried another option gave 'arested' payment.
