increasing the amount of stat points you have on a character increase the total amount of points they earn when leveling up.
I have a level 12 Eddie which will get a total of 24 additional points for leveling up to the next level while a level 8 Hoshi gets a total of 27 additional points for leveling up.
or is that just character based
