F1 2019

F1 2019

Statistiche:
is this game more of a sim or a simcade?
got into codemaster games from grid2. i like it very much. but then i went into racedriver grid and i absolutely love it. craving for those codies game i play dirt 3. now i want to get into coddies f1, but does the handling and physics of this game more to the sim or to the simcade? or maybe you can set it to sim or simcade depending whay setting you put in?
i play grid with controller so i play with automatic, put abs and stability on with traction off with the difficulty that give you 3 flashback. im bit more on the casual side on the setting so i can enjoy the race and not get frustrated hence why i only turn off traction.
so, how is it on f1 2019? should i consider playing this game with the way i play other coddies title or nah?

fyi i also have no single idea about f1 racing. ahahaha

Simcade.
alright, but im just gonna leave the thread open for a bit for other people say what this game handling is so i can be sure whether this game is sim or simcade

Do you think anyone can answer that question accurately? :D
I mean to know that you should first drive a F1 car and I doubt anyone drived an F1 here.
Dont think is too much is just a game, if you like F1, buy it. That's all you need to care about

wait. whoa what. i did hear that the driver of f1 said that f1 feels like a game but i didnt expect em to actually use the codies game to train.

They don't. They use rFactor to simulate the F1 cars

even alonso on instagram said he used rfactor, I play only with dynamic line (only curves) and the rest disable with IA on 95-100% , all this with a controller

Yeah I mean they play some racing games but at the time of simulating a real F1, rFactor is the most realistic game for that (Thats what they say)
so let me get this straight. atleast tell me, is this game a sim or a simcade?

y know what. imma just take this crappy ambiguous answer lol
First the question what is a simulation! The simulation is an experiment to get insights about a real system! Thus, for me all games are not a simulation, but the publication of the findings! Few of us would really love a Formula One car on the limit and there are other "simulations" that bring us closer to that. For me, F1 2019 is a good game, not more or less, but with the reality of driving, it's not real and it can not be honest!

i cant really agree with this because that mean a game that was meant to be a simulation of the real thing like assetto corsa is not a simulation by that logic.
just read this article
https://virtualracingschool.com/academy/iracing-career-guide/before-you-get-started/arcade-vs-simcade-vs-simulators/

"With sims, the choices made by their developers lean towards realism, not gameplay. They’re still games, but also tools. Many real racing drivers use them to learn the tracks and the cars for real life racing, testimony of all these drivers who use iRacing."

now, the thing what i want to know is weather this game have the handling toward realism. or like grid, where it try to hit the spot between realism and fun. hence why the dev and people call it "Simcade" a mix between sim and arcade..
Came across the article looking for a review of the game. Along the way I found this. I think someone who races F1 would have the best advice on what to race if you are looking for a simulator.
