do i need new steering wheel or more practice???

Hello guys im playing f1 2019 for very long time now and i see that my lap times are 3-4 secs slower than the top 10%. im playing with a very old steering wheel with no ffb(microsoft sidewinder precision wheel).my question is , is this my problem? i dont want to be the fastest guy in the track but i feel very slow!is it better to spend 300-400 to get a newer steering wheel with ffb and etc or it will be the same ?

A new wheel probably helps but it also is about practcing a lot.

FFB is very important for a Wheel. You can feel the under- and oversteer when it starts to get a problem, while you've to wait a littlebit longer to see it actually be a problem.

So yes, getting a Wheel with FFB would propably make you faster. Even a Controller with Rumble/Vibration could give you enough Information to get a littlebit faster with enough training.

But be prepared to set very bad times the first few rounds with FFB. If you're not used to it, then you'll most likely overreact to whatever your wheel tells you. It takes time to get used to it.

well of course it needs practice i know but with this steering wheel i think i cant go faster(maybe 0.1-0.2)but not consistant!i just dont want to throw an big amount of money and be the same.i understand that ill have to get used to ffb but i dont think this will be a problem!thank you for your feedback people.....any recommendations for a good steering wheel?

I can recommend the Logitech G920 (Xbox-buttons) or G29 (PS4-Buttons). Not the best out there, but very reliable and not that expensive.

well i looking more like a trustmaster tx or t300rs, in me country the price for the is 50-60 euros more than the g29 and g920

get a used g27 or upper series. You won`t be dissapointed

thano, you are from greece?
thrustmaster t300rs PRO (with 3 pedals) is 100 euros more expensive than the logitechs.
default pedals t300rs and is garbage.
i suggest t150 PRO. better wheel IMO than logi, proper pedals and still 40 euros cheaper than G29

θανο, σου συνιστω να μην παρεις thrustmaster τιμονιερα με 2 πεταλια. δες κανενα ριβιου στο youtube, δεν κανουν δουλεια.
η t150 PRO εχει τρια πεταλια και ειναι καλυτερη απο τις logitech. ψαξτο λιγο, εχει πολλα συγκριτικα.
καλυτερη λυση η t300 PRO. πας στο 100ρικο διαφορα απο τις logitech αλλα τα αξιζει φιλος.

I asked myself the same question about a year ago- I was using the original xbox360 racing wheel and pedals mounted to my desk- no force feedback on PC with it. after saving up a good chunk I debated if spending the money on a newer wheel would be worth the money and I can honestly say I have never had any regrets. I got the Fanatec CSL elite, a wheel I liked, the handbrake the shifter and a set of pedals aaaand absolutely zero regrets. I also heard ThrustMaster has belt driven wheel bases so that would be a good choice probably too. belt driven for the win! my old xbox wheel used gears and they skip and don't produce a lot of torque.

yeap i made the move! bought the Thrustmater T300rs GT and .......wow....a new wolrd hahahahah
im at least 1.5 secs faster at every truck and most of all , consistant.! worth the money and i think i found it here in greek for a good price (345euros)

You can shave off more seconds by heel-toeing the gas peddle. Use the bottom of your foot, not the ball of your foot to accelerate. Dont know why it works but it does :)

guys, please help me with another issue: I've just installed F1 2019 but my cockpit view is not centralized, it is slightly shifted to the right. I tried to change settings, but did not find any option to centralize the cockpit view. could someone help me?
