Traction on controller???
Hi
Does anyone know why traction turned off when using a controller makes the car undriveable and it just spins in circles on the spot. Ans also does using a racing wheel eliminate this problem?

You can select to turn traction control on or off in the game.

Turn traction control to medium and try to use some throttle control, slowly press down the trigger rather than pushing it all the way down instantly.

yeah bro. i know that. but i'm wondering if it is just the controller that it doesnt work on. i think it is impossible to have all assists off on a controller?

It's not impossible, but it's very difficult. I run no traction control in the dry right now on a controller and really its just a matter of practise, don't try to push the limits too quickly, maybe watch some videos on youtube to see how others are applying the throttle and just take your time with it initially

Nah. That's not the case for me. It is impossible to go straight for more than a split second. It doesnt matter what i do, the car just spins. Maybe it is a controller compatibility issue with my controller. I'm using a ps4 controller. For example. If i set the car straight on a straight road and press gas then it just spins. This is only when both braking assist and traction are completely off

Maybe it's just your specific type of controller. I had traction control turned off on both the ps4 and on the controller I was using for PC before I got a wheel and it worked perfectly fine. Learning to not hit the throttle to quickly took a while but it is far from impossible.

You can turn on and off that setting
also there is an middle option
i reccommend you to turn off the traction control and the abs
also try to drive without dynamic line and with manual gearing box

Thanks bro. I'm going to try a different controller and also try the wheel set up in the local curry's. Let's see if it is a controller issue. Unfortunately i can't get on the game because of a 24 hour wait to validate my game message on my steam lol

you need a very good steering wheel and pedal for no traction control, and yes you are right on the controller is almost impossible.
people are complaining that even on g29 the car spins and the breaks lock with assists off, and you need lots of practice even with a high end steering wheel and pedals.

It really is far from impossible. I managed to handle it on a controller and also on a g29. Sure, it requires quite a bit of practice and I definitely haven't mastered it but driving without assists isn't supposed to be easy. If it was the assists wouldn't be there.

Maimutza:- You were spot on mate. I tested it with the G29 in Curry's and it worked although it will need practice like you say but possible. Coming home and re-trying on PS4 controller was again impossible for me. Maybe some controllers work for it by the sounds of things but not for me. Hope to see you guys in the lobbies soon when i get better lol

It’s not impossible but it takes time to adjust, it took me a few weeks to adjust myself to off from medium.
The game is possible with no assists but you have to learn.
I’m just too lazy to take off the dynamic racing line.

I turned off the racing line first but on my way to learning the tracks the right way I turned off the other assists as well because they are much easier to adapt to so I ended up getting the hang of everything at the same time.

Exactly what I did with no ABS, I didn’t realise that my career mode had it off because I accidentally did it.
Instead of turning it off I tried to adapt to it and I think it’s good and working well as I’m able to run 105 AI with no issues.

I'm pretty sure turning off assists makes you faster, provided you can handle it, so it's no surprise.
