Controls help!!

Please help... This is not a troll post, I'm just trying to do basic stuff and can't.

Literally can't even figure out how to exit from track back to garage? I've pressed every button on the keyboard including Esc, F1 - F12 and nothing works except shift-tabbing to Steam brings up the menu.

Beyond that, I can't seem to adjust any settings like wings etc - where are the menus for this?

Garage seems to give me one option - go to track.

How do you exit from garage to main menu?

Why is there no mouse support?

F5 - F6 to move menus - what is this?

Now it crashed and won't start again... Same thing happened yesterday and I had to reinstall.

I'm returning this game. Wanted to love it but literally cant play or navigate the menus when I'm actually in the game.

After reed your post, I don't have such solutions for your problem...
I have to say that is not a regular bug..
If you didn't try, do an verification of your local folder 3 or 4 times.
If the problem is not resolved, contact directly codemaster here :

ESC brings you back to the cockpit from the setup menu for example. The key/button for more options, including leaving, is usually on your controller/wheel unless you changed something.

I think they made the game for consoles primarily so imagine on a console you only have a controler (not necessarily but it's the custom), so to change between menu screens you have to push some button. So this is how they adapted to the keyboard: the F keys move between menus and sub-menus.

I hope you succeed and find fun in whatever you do, but I highly recommend buying even a cheap Xbox360 controller. I bought one a long time ago I don't remember to play what game but since then I've used it in many games including Condor Flight Simulator and Kerbal Space Program instead of a more expensive and bulky joystick. Fighting games, vehicle games, racing games, they are all to me more enjoyable but of course your experience may be different, some people never like controllers and prefer to stick to keyboard. Still, I use the F keys to navigate menus, it just takes a little getting used to.

Too much information is frustrating at first and you just want to get on a car and start racing but if you take it one step at a time you'll be able to get in the game. Anyway, good luck.

I looked at this players profile and am very surprised he couldnt make this game work.
According to his profile he is one of the original gamers in the world dating back to 1980 when he started.
He has numerous awards in games

So IMO he was just jerkin our chains and making us look like fools

To the OP, I had this happened when I first started playing. There were some issues originally with how it picked up existing controllers and a majority of the time it would default to a gamepad if you have one plugged in (even if you aren't using it).

If you do have a gamepad plugged in and aren't using it, then it will at times default to using the "BACK" button on the gamepad for the menu. Make sure in your "Control Scheme", you have "Keyboard" enabled.

I Have a same problem. ESC didn´t working only after crash. If I finnish a race, I can go back to menu.
