how would you know? you havent played it in years from what youre saying... you've missed so much fun my friend... 2019 is 50% off I think, cut your terrible losses and enjoy the game. I too look forward to VR.
By the time the engine starts getting the steam it needs there will be a whole data base of other games that were already made 3d Vision Ready by the team at HelixMOD. Batman Arkham City that was developed by Warner Brothers on the virtual screen is another master piece that very few gamers ever got to experience. These games totally sucks you into the action. From 27" up to 300 inches, gives you goosebums all the way. The best part is that if you already own these games you only need to buy HelixVision which costs next to nothing. That is while it stays in Beta i assume. And as far as I know its only nVidia gpu's that could drive this tech. HelixVision+nVidiaGPU+HMD+the game, then you're set for hours in the most awesome way games were truly meant to be played. 4k projectors that could push 1080p 3D at 120hz is the ultimate way currently. But proper 4k hmd's will change this. I cant wait to play in both environments like I currently do. But at 4K!
Im very pleased with the Samsung Odyssey +. But it could be a tad little bit better. An i7 4820 is the bare minimum. From here on upwards. I've used the SO+ in Asseto Corsa and the headracking and all that in this racing game. It is quite epic. But the super sampling and anti aliasing on the lines running into the far distance is a bit distracting. With a 1080ti im able to enjoy both sides of the stereoscopic environment just comfortably. But only older games are currently mostly compatible. Shadow of Mordor is the next one I want to try.
Anyway, this has nothing to do with Formula 1 2019. But their "Remember Me" inside the HMD is also spectacular. Cant wait to replay this again on a 300" virtual 3d screen. It was an absolute blast on my 120" 3d projector screen. But still regret not having my first impression inside the VR headset. Other guys who havent tried it have a lot to look forward to! Its worth all the trouble to get this set up to work!! Its not a plug and play scenario.
I have triple screen but since i bought my rift S i can't buy a racing game without VR support.
I've already sent as much to Codies, along with a nice screen shot of my library that misses very few of their games and NONE of the Formula One since '10s which Steam acts kinda weird about for some reason, probably Copyright.
There are ENTIRELY too many ways being done to get an "accurate" impression of driving a modern Formula One car in VR to let Codies have a lock on it. Just have a look outside your "comfort zone" and realize there are a lot of great mods that don't even require "copyright" witness the excellent "F1 Legends" mod that has neither actual drivers nor cars of the '67 Season and yet I bet any one of us who has tried it will admit to a certain similarity to the Holy "Grand Prix Legends". And with updated DX11+ fancy poly-based tracks to boot! So really do I CARE that the absolute latest advertising has been updated to sell me things as I blast past at 200+ kilometers an hour? Or that my travelling companions out here have such memorable names as "Jonny Bucktooth?"- no of course not, I giggle actually as I'm sure the Developer meant it an an "Homage" if you will to the driver of the actual car in '67.
I don't mean to dredge up ancient business, but then again, there's that. If Codemasters, with the modern Formula One license cannot and will not translate it into a form that I find appealing I will simply go to the mighty Internet of things and acquire it by other means as I'm sure most everyone else does. Let them have tempting Sales but remain moneyless until we, the VR-consuming public vote with our wallets and receive what we want. Even Bethesda got off their Butts for Skyrim and had someone add a 120ish Mb patch to get it to run.
Sorry for asking you here, I could't find much on Reddit. In a nutshell, does it work?
Thanks! It's definitely not the same, but I'll give it a try.
They added a 3D option, and it actually works (you can even see behind the halo column). However the graphics are meh and the head movements are weird.
