VR support?
Will this game have full VR support from the beginning? VR is a must have in racing sims!

YES! I see that, come to the comments to see confirmation and as I suspected.... a mistake ☹

Saw this in the 'VR section' of the Steam sale - rushed over with wallet open - but no VR. So yeah, no buy.

No VR no buy.

It's the same re-hased buggy garbage since F1 2010 anyway.
I'm guessing the save game bug, tyre wear bugs, pit bugs and safety car bugs are still present in some form or another?

how would you know? you havent played it in years from what youre saying... you've missed so much fun my friend... 2019 is 50% off I think, cut your terrible losses and enjoy the game. I too look forward to VR.

3d vision may be good for watching videos and no complaints with these apps. It is the same as bigscreen, virtual desktop, VORPX and others. I use VORPX on several 2d games, although looking better, it is still like looking at a theater screen in 3D-straight ahead viewing. None of these give you true 360 degree viewing like VR does.

I do use VORPX with F1 2017 and 2018 with my VR headset and looks better than a flat screen. But like others, would prefer true VR for even better in game immersion.
The virtual screen might not be so cool. But Tombraider 2013, Portal 2 and Mass Effect Andromeda on a 300" 3d screen with 0 ghosting is EPIC! Its a lot better than the cinema's experience. Especially TR. They've designed these games with 3d in mind. It is the most immersive experience that I've had in 12 years of stereoscopic gaming. At times the camera is on her shoulder and shes is moving through cracks and tunnels in dark places. With only a torch in front of her. Planes falling out of the sky. Ancient buildings burning down while you make your way through it. Being hunted by packs of wolves. That is why 4k should make its way to VR speedily and be more affordable. When I started with this I couldnt stop. People would be blown away! But the headsets arent there yet. Your average gamer couldnt afford these expensive toys. Thats how its always been with stereocopic gaming. Atleast Half Life Alyx would be the patriot of VR technology on PC and hopefully console.

By the time the engine starts getting the steam it needs there will be a whole data base of other games that were already made 3d Vision Ready by the team at HelixMOD. Batman Arkham City that was developed by Warner Brothers on the virtual screen is another master piece that very few gamers ever got to experience. These games totally sucks you into the action. From 27" up to 300 inches, gives you goosebums all the way. The best part is that if you already own these games you only need to buy HelixVision which costs next to nothing. That is while it stays in Beta i assume. And as far as I know its only nVidia gpu's that could drive this tech. HelixVision+nVidiaGPU+HMD+the game, then you're set for hours in the most awesome way games were truly meant to be played. 4k projectors that could push 1080p 3D at 120hz is the ultimate way currently. But proper 4k hmd's will change this. I cant wait to play in both environments like I currently do. But at 4K!

Im very pleased with the Samsung Odyssey +. But it could be a tad little bit better. An i7 4820 is the bare minimum. From here on upwards. I've used the SO+ in Asseto Corsa and the headracking and all that in this racing game. It is quite epic. But the super sampling and anti aliasing on the lines running into the far distance is a bit distracting. With a 1080ti im able to enjoy both sides of the stereoscopic environment just comfortably. But only older games are currently mostly compatible. Shadow of Mordor is the next one I want to try.

Anyway, this has nothing to do with Formula 1 2019. But their "Remember Me" inside the HMD is also spectacular. Cant wait to replay this again on a 300" virtual 3d screen. It was an absolute blast on my 120" 3d projector screen. But still regret not having my first impression inside the VR headset. Other guys who havent tried it have a lot to look forward to! Its worth all the trouble to get this set up to work!! Its not a plug and play scenario.

I don't race anymore outside VR, just can't go back to 2D racing.

Steam sales... no VR = no Buy
I have triple screen but since i bought my rift S i can't buy a racing game without VR support.

Not feeding trolls or anything one way or another. If Codemasters puts VR support in the game, I buy it. Witness Dirt Rally 2.0. If they do not, witness this, the FIRST F1 title I will not buy until they do. I am not BS'ing and my Library shows it. If it doesn't get support that way it will sit UNTIL and unless it does, I don't care if they GIVE it away or any updated version they might come up with next year or the year after.

I've already sent as much to Codies, along with a nice screen shot of my library that misses very few of their games and NONE of the Formula One since '10s which Steam acts kinda weird about for some reason, probably Copyright.

There are ENTIRELY too many ways being done to get an "accurate" impression of driving a modern Formula One car in VR to let Codies have a lock on it. Just have a look outside your "comfort zone" and realize there are a lot of great mods that don't even require "copyright" witness the excellent "F1 Legends" mod that has neither actual drivers nor cars of the '67 Season and yet I bet any one of us who has tried it will admit to a certain similarity to the Holy "Grand Prix Legends". And with updated DX11+ fancy poly-based tracks to boot! So really do I CARE that the absolute latest advertising has been updated to sell me things as I blast past at 200+ kilometers an hour? Or that my travelling companions out here have such memorable names as "Jonny Bucktooth?"- no of course not, I giggle actually as I'm sure the Developer meant it an an "Homage" if you will to the driver of the actual car in '67.

I don't mean to dredge up ancient business, but then again, there's that. If Codemasters, with the modern Formula One license cannot and will not translate it into a form that I find appealing I will simply go to the mighty Internet of things and acquire it by other means as I'm sure most everyone else does. Let them have tempting Sales but remain moneyless until we, the VR-consuming public vote with our wallets and receive what we want. Even Bethesda got off their Butts for Skyrim and had someone add a 120ish Mb patch to get it to run.

I decided to buy F1 2019 when they had a sale on it. Even though it does not have true 360 VR, I do use 3D Vorpx which is better than nothing on my PC. This will be the last F1 game I will get until they decide to do actual true 360 VR. F1 2019 seems to feel different driving the cars than the previous 2 or 3 versions I have. I don't need to pay/ have the latest team drivers every year to drive the same tracks, I don't do the career, only hop on a track and race.

still waiting for VR :D

Sorry for asking you here, I could't find much on Reddit. In a nutshell, does it work?

Vorpx is never great but can work. I'll wait for proper SteamVR support though.

Thanks! It's definitely not the same, but I'll give it a try.

Vorpx is more a "theatre like" than a real 3D render.

They added a 3D option, and it actually works (you can even see behind the halo column). However the graphics are meh and the head movements are weird.
