Crash on startup (unplayable)

Hey, I can't seem to be able to play this at all.
At first it would let me into the game, but then freeze mid-race of the first F2 scenario, and I had to forcefully turn my PC off as it wouldn't open task manager or anything.

Now the game will crash when it's trying to load the menu (after it says "Press any button"), so I can't play at all.

Rather disappointed...
Any ideas?

i7 7700k / GTX 1080 / 16 GB Ram / Windows 10

use dx11 instead of dx12 read some people had issues

That indeed fixes the startup issue, thank you.

Still get the full freeze/crash after a couple of minutes of playing though :(

to be honest i cant see a difference between dx 11 and dx 12, i think it runs better in dx 12, but i mainly use that as i seem to have odd sound issues under dx 11....weird.

im running in DX11 because of that crash. Has anyone tried daylight Bahrain? Is anyone getting this odd sunlight that makes it looks like i cracked my LCD panel?

DX11 and DX12 on differ in performance.visually there is and was NEVER a difference.
