Thrustmaster T300 not working with game. **FIXED - Solution in Replies**
I can't get my wheel to work with this game. The force feedback function doesn't work at all and so the wheel doesn't return to center or react to bumps or anything else.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the wheel's drivers. I've tried using the wheel in both ps3 and ps4 modes. The wheel is recognized correctly in ps3 mode but none of the force feedback works at all. I've tried turning the force feedback on and off in the options and also turned the settings up and down but it's just not present at all in game. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the entire game and this also didn't fix the issue.

Force feedback works with other pc games like Forza Horizon 4 and also works correctly on the ps4 version of F1 2018.

Any help? I've looked around but I don't see anyone else having this issue with the game. Thanks in advance.

I don't have a T300 but the only thing i can suggest is to try a different usb controller/port. Good luck!

I've tried that too! 3 USB ports and same issue with each. Thanks for trying!

Also tried uninstalling Geforce Experience which helped some people with getting an older version of F1 to work. That also hasn't helped.

Is your switch set to PS3 or PS4? If it's set to PS4 change it and restart your pc

I've tried both. It doesn't work with force feedback in either mode.

Try Reinstall game

Good news! A kind soul at the Codemasters forums has provided a solution that cleared up the issue.

Uninstall with Geek Uninstaller. Disconnect wheel. Reboot. (Check the wheel rim is tightened into the wheelbase correctly, unseat and retighten, check pedalset is connected, unplug and replug). Disconnect the XB1 controller and do not play with a wheel with it connected.

Install latest 2019_TTRS_1 check for firmware v29, updating if necessary. Restart PC.

Check controller works in Thrustmaster Control Panel (you can test the FFB effect).

Delete hardware_settings_config.xml (in c:\users\{YOURNAME}\My Documents\My Games\F1 2019 and launch the game. Set the controller in the game and play.

The uninstaller is used to completely remove the Wheels Drivers. I didn't have to uninstall and reinstall the game.

I still don't fully understand why the wheel and force feedback worked correctly in other games before doing this, but I'm really glad this fixed the problem.
