Car Setup for Monaco
Anyone have a good car setup for Monaco? For some reason I can't seem to get around the stupid hairpin corner (2 corners from the tunnel)! No matter how I turn I just keep hitting the outside barrier and destroy the front wing or I undercut the corner and get a penalty for it. Can't seem to find the sweetspot. I'm kinda thinking I'm gonna need a whole lot of oversteer. Anyone out there have any constructive suggestions (apart from "get better at driving you tool!" - that's actually what I'm trying to do!).
Thanks....

Are you playing with a wheel?
I had that problem too until I found out that I was too lazy to turn my wheel max to the left

Unfortunately I can't use my wheel right now cause of a leg injury means I can't use the foot pedal properly. I figure I could probably do it with the wheel. So stuck with a controller for a few more weeks. That's most likely the problem. Maybe I will have to play with the settings to make it more sensitive.

I only use presets, so preset 1 for Monaco. Full wheel deflection for loews corner, for the other corners just don't be too fast. Sure there are some tricks to make the front end bite better such as softer stabilizers at the front and/or softer springs and such but all changes come at a prize, you gain in one department and lose in another. I have the G920, i set it to 360 deg and everything else on default in the profiler. Ingame i added 10 points in linearity, that's it. The racing line at Loews is very important, if you are too late on the breaks you are doomed, too early and you'll ride the inside curb. Try that corner in practice at very low speeds. You'll find out that you can drive through that corner normally just like a street car.

do you use TC full ? if you lower that or turn it off you can easyly turn tighter if you use the throttle for turning in this corner ( and other hairpins :) )

Thanks everyone,

Gonna try some things later on today or tomorrow regarding your suggestions. I'll let you know how I get on.

Go slow into the corner, stick to the right wall and hard crank the wheel left and give the throttle a little pump if you slow down too much, the ideal speed is something like 40kph

Higher ARBs front and rear might help get a stronger response from the car in that hairpin. Wouldn't be too silly in that circuit to go nearly full ARBs if it doesn't compromise the rest of the lap and your tyre life.
This has to be the only track that pissed me off lmao .

Thanks for the help guys. I managed to kind of corner better by reducing traction control as well as following your suggestions. Definitely think I'd be more successful with my wheel. I think the controller is not so good with steering (not so responsive). But not an option till my leg heals so I guess I'll have to put up with it and hope I don't get shunted out of too many races by drivers who are better and faster than me! (including the AI!)
